Gambit may throw faster than the ordinary human, but so does Cap with shield. That doesn't really prove much. But since Cap can deflect lasers with his shield which move faster than Gambit's projectiles I think he can block Gambit's cards without much problem. Explosions will do little against Cap either. He's withstood direct attacks from Iron Man's artillery with his shield plus his costume itself is made up of vibranium chain mail which like Black Panther's costume greatly reduces the damage he takes.
Also why does everyone assume Gambit's gonna be free tho throw all these cards or whatever. He's getting shot at too. If anything that alone puts things in Cap's favor. Gambit may be super agile, but dodging and weaving is what Cap does. He constantly trains and even has Spider-Man's admiration(to clarify Spider-Man wasn't in awe of Cap cause Cap was doing things he couldn't, he was in awe cause Cap is very agile for a human). Cap's armor and shield will protect him from the defenses of the mansion but Gambit hasto dodge and block with a thin pole(which will make things very difficult for him). Besides since these are lasers Cap can just deflect them towards Gambit, putting extra pressure on him. I'm sorry but in this scenario Gambit has not one advantage except for home field

About the armor. Yes Captain has armor, but Gambit doesn't have the blow the projectile up. He can make it transfer the charge. Gambit also has body that has saved him from suprise gun shots before.
He will be free...as I have already shown.

Um. This wasn't some stat I got. He did it in a comic. Tanaka had her thumb on a button to detonate an entire city. Gambit was standing fifty feet away and she dared him to try anything. Gambit was able to draw three cards AND do all of the things I mentioned before she could simply....press down. Can he, while dodging all the mansion defenses, mount a serious offense against Cap? Can he do it while Cap is deflecting laser fire right at him? Can he do it for long before the lactic acid builds up in his muscles? I don't think so.
I forgot about Gambit's armour. It will provide him with some added protection. But Cap's chain mail has vibranium, that is it absorbs kinetic energy. Now it won't completely drain Gambit's objects, but they'll certainly be a hell of a lot less effective. Thats considering Gambit's projectiles can get to Cap past his agility, speed and shield. The odds are too much against Gambit here

Yes, Gambit can mount offences while being attacked all the time.
Gambit's homefield advantage is too serious here as well. If the fight were at the Avengers mansion, I'd give it to Captain. If you want to debate just good ole Captain America vs Gambit, there is thread.
