100 pages guyz, signifies UFC 100. Should be an epic event.

Im curious to see how far Kimbo will make it.
Originally posted by StyleTimeGood maybe dana and seth will shut there mouth about boxing. I love both sports and have trained in both with professional fighters( just for fun) but I hate when they try to front like boxing requires no skill and can be done by anybody. On another note I am very nervous about the anderson silva/griffen fight, I want griffen to win but I seriously doubt it.
I'm glad I didn't order this event. UFC 99 was pretty meh.Rich vs Silva was a good show. I'm glad Rich won, but I'm sad Silva lost. I like them both, but Silva may need to consider the future of fight career. It's obvious that his old "Axe Murderer" style isn't there anymore, but his new found defensive approach isn't getting very far either. On the other hand, at least he took down Jardine when his more aggressive style.
Crocop vs Al Turk- I for one had no idea Crocop was even fighting at this event. 😂 Assessing Crocop is complicated here. Yes, his win came from an accidental eye poke that the ref didn't call, but I'd venture to say that Crocop looked similar to his old self. He's still not the guy who fought Fedor quite yet, but he looked better. He used his old spiral defense to toss the larger Al Turk aside, and his boxing looks much improved. Hopefully, he'll return to where he isn't relying on that single technique, his left high kick, to win his fights.
That said, it looks like his fight deal with the UFC was for only one fight. He is going to DREAM where he is signed for 3(I believe) fights. It's strange he would do that, since he claimed he wanted to make another, genuine run for the UFC HW title. I guess DREAM is going to pay more. Crocop is huge in Japan, and I've noticed that the Japanese audience cares a little less about win records. Over here in the States, you're irrelevant after like 2-3 losses.
Shame still, the fanboy in me really wants Crocop to return the way he was. Maybe he's going to Japan to tune up his skills?
That was hilarious.
Now two of Fedor's "big" wins have been replicated by a washed up, bald boxer who is almost 50 years old and a fighter who noone knew before like a couple of days ago.
I do wonder how Dana will respond to two former champs going down to Ray ****ing Mercer and Brett Rogers.
I don't know if I'm alone on this, but I'm a bigger K1 MAX fan than MMA in general.

I hate the whole rule about attacking only once in the clinch though.

Lol If you're talking about Kimbo and Petruzelli, you're out of your mind.Kimbo got cut, and was clearly hurt in that fight.
He had a cut? I really couldn't tell ermm
well according to what dana said on a recent interview Kimbo is definately looking better than he thought on the ultimate fighter & Kimbo doesn't like him now, atleast he can redeem himself from embarassment.
Originally posted by StyleTimeThey made that rule a long time ago, because most of the Thai fighters were finishing off their opponents fast. Not sure how true this is though.
It's rare that MMA fans proclaim boxing requires no skill. The whole MMA vs boxing thing is usually instigated by the boxers saying MMA/Vale Tudo fighters have no skill.I will always be a striking fan at heart, and K-1 has an appeal that few things can replicate. In terms of pure excitement, I'd agree that kickboxing may be the most exciting sport...ever. The problem is, I've watched MMA so long that I feel strange when I don't see fighters going for takedowns or grappling. I still enjoy watching it though. You get to see a wider variety of strikes and styles in your typical K-1 style event than in MMA.

Tonight's UFC 100 looks to be a good event.
My picks:
Kim vs Grant= Dong Hyung Kim will take this.
Jones vs O'Brien= Jones
Bonnar vs Coleman= Bonnar
Akiyama vs Belcher= Belcher
Bisping vs Henderson= Not sure. Close call. I lean towards Henderson though.
GSP vs Alves= GSP, but Alves is tough.
Mir vs Lesnar= Mir
I am a quite a Georges St. Pierre fanboy, so I've been hyping him up to some people I know. They don't frequently watch MMA but are going to watch tonight. It'd suck if Alves pulls an upset on me. 😆

Bonnar losing to Coleman was unexpected.
I usually root for Bisping, but his trash talk really irritates me. I'm glad Henderson obtained such a clean ko on Bisping.
GSP's match went exactly as expected. Alves is tough, but GSP just excels at too many aspects of the sport. He effectively neutralized Alves ability to do much of anything. GSP is just on another level entirely. I anxiously await GSP vs Anderson Silva.
Mir...RAH! Can anyone explain Mir's gameplan? Personally, I thought he'd try to use his much improved striking to pick Brock apart. Now we all have to tolerate that douche Brock running around with the belt around his douche waist like some kind of giant douche.
Brock is the only heavyweight I'd be happy to see lose to Gonzaga.
