Unfortunately, Mir opted to train his [b]flying knee instead of his wrestling. I mean it makes sense. Wrestling would only enabled him to keep the fight standing where he has a distinct advantage. Who needs tactical advantages when you have the flying knee!!!****ING MIR!!!!! RAAAH!!!!!

Because most UFC fans don't like a former 'show-wrestler' taking over their 'serious' sport. I don't really care that much for the heavyweight division and I'm not even that big of a fan of MMA in general, so I don't care personally.
Most fans dont like the fact that he was a big "fake" wrestling star and now he is the heavyweight champ. Plus he beat Randy Couture which the fans love. I like that Brock likes being the bad guy. I thought it was cool that he flipped the fans for booing him.
Fedor vs Brock is for real this time in UFC.
Dana White says Fedor Emelianenko will fight in the UFC, Brock Lesnar fight imminent
by Dann Stupp on Jul 12, 2009 at 5:30 am ET
Prior to this past Saturday's UFC 100 event, an underground movement took root and called for mixed-martial-arts fan who would attend the show to begin "Fedor!" chants throughout the night.
The thought, of course, was to make UFC executives well aware of the fans' desire to have Fedor Emelianenko, the world's top-ranked heavyweight and arguably the greatest MMA fighter in the division's history, fighting in the octagon.
The chants were never heard, but after UFC 100, UFC President Dana White said he wants Emelianenko in the UFC, that it's eventually going to happen, and that a fight with Brock Lesnar is imminent

-_- It's cuz Mir is from Las Vegas

UFC wants Fedor exclusively.
Originally posted by dvampireHis stand up is still suspect. He has power, but 0 head movement.
Brock is so damn strong! It was like watching an adult fight against a little kid, he was just too strong for Mir.
Once he works on that, he'll be unstoppable.
UFC is working hard to get Fedor Emelianenko into the octagon. It's going to be difficult though.
Josh Barnett would be great addition as well.

so I'm guessing brock basically did the same thing as last time and started pounding on his head while on the ground except without out getting submitted?
RAH! MIR!! ****!

Also, Dr. Leg Kick is right. Fans usually root for the hometown fighter. Mir is from Las Vegas.

Who should Brock fight next

Does anybody think Lesnar could even get by Emilianenko, though? The whole reason I thought Mir would take him was because of his improved striking game, why didn't he use it?

Look at Liddell vs Randleman. Liddell was hesitant with his strikes, cuz he knew Randleman could take him down easily in straight wrestling. Same with Mir and Lesnar. I dont know how much Lesnar's chin has been tested, but that knee Mir threw last night rocked Lesnar in my opinion. He laid on top of Mir to gain back his composure.
Lesnar has turned into a patient fighter.
As for Fedor, it would be a tough fight. Fedor's boxing is superior, no question, but Brock has that one punch KO. I don't know what to expect.
I'd say Fedor via KO.
