I think ist gonna be the winner of Carwin-velasquez put up against brock. Carwin is pretty big and strong himself so id personally like to see that fight happen. Or UFc mighr decide to put the winner of Couture vs Nog against brock. There arent really any others i can think of.
Though id honestly love to see machida move up to HW and have a match against brock.

Keep an eye on Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez. Especially Velasquez. The kid has an iron chin, and his wrestling is ridiculous. He can definitely give Lesnar problems on the stand up, and could hold his own on the ground.
Carwin is kinda slower in my opinion, but he has the same power in punches as Lesnar does, and his wrestling is top notch as well.
Other than that, you have Gonzaga, Kongo, Nogueria, Couture, Herring and couple others. Not the best weight class as you said.
Fedor and Barnett are a must for the UFC.
edit: And Cro Cop just signed a 3 fight deal, but he hasn't been the same since winning the tournament belt in Pride 2006. After that fight, he just became too arrogant. He has all the skills in the world to be a champ, or at least top 5 in a division.
Originally posted by I-DropFrank backed it up though. Lesnar just did what he always does, get on top and ground n pound. It's effective, but its a fact that Frank knows way more techniques on the ground and stand up.
Brock seems to get too much hate. I'm not sure if it's the city. I respect him & Frank may have went a lil' overboard w/the "I know soooo much more than you" shit b4 the fight & that mock "this ain't the WWE" shit he & his friends did.
Overall, Brock is going to be a terror for heavyweights.

Velasquez seems to have trouble finishing fights though. At least against Kongo, he was basically in control for the entire fight, working his ground and pound, but he just couldn't finish the fight, and got rocked almost everytime Kongo managed to stand up. Although his wrestling is amazing, it's going to be a lot harder to control Brock on the ground like he did with Kongo, and if he can't finish Kongo of while being on top of him for 3 rounds straight, I don't see how he's going to do it with Brock.
And you're right about Velasquez, but as I said, his boxing is improving. Kongo just outshined him in the striking department.

On the other hand, Brock owns a gargantuan physique and fearsome strength. As loath as I am to admit it, these are more than enough to give a him a shot in this fight.
Theoretically, Fedor will finish Brock with a KO early in round one or a submission if Brock opts for a hasty take down. If Brock is patient and sets up his take down, he could use ground 'n pound to hammer out a victory. He's also got a chance to knock Fedor out standing up.

Carwin is fighting Velasquez next.I don't know who they will put up against Lesnar. Maybe winner of that fight.

Did anyone notice the fan with the Pride t-shirt at UFC 100? It made me nostalgic.

Yeah the HW division is growing for sure, just not at the pace all the other weight division are.
Originally posted by Dr. Leg KickFrank didn't really back up anything. He got dominated. His stand up didn't do anything to stop Brock from taking him down & him knowing more stuff on the ground meant nothing as Brock pummelled him.

Is Bonnar in danger of getting fired?
Most fans dont like the fact that he was a big "fake" wrestling star and now he is the heavyweight champ. Plus he beat Randy Couture which the fans love. I like that Brock likes being the bad guy. I thought it was cool that he flipped the fans for booing him.
Picks for UFC 101?
Did you not see Frank land that beautiful jumping knee to Brock's face. It's not that Brock took him down, it's that Frank fell from his attack. The entire restaurant/bar was shouting that Brock was rocked, and it was evident cuz Brock laid on top for a significant amount of time, then found his composure and proceeded to dominate Frank.
The fact is, the only kind of fighter that will defeat Brock is one that has better striking and great takedown defense.
Probably Cro Cop in 2006 would have done it.
As for Bonnar, I doubt it. He and Forrest are UFC's baby stars. They are the reason why UFC became more mainstream.

Anyone who isn't a superstar like Forrest or Rampage seems to be in danger of getting fired after losing one or 2 fights, so it wouldn't surprise me. On the other hand, as Dr. Leg Kick said they might not fire him because of TUF 1 and the familiarity a lot of fans have with him.
But you can never predict what Dana does.

I think Dana once said that Forrest and Bonner will always have a job in he UFC. He credits both of them for the UFCs rise.

As for the heavyweight division, I can't believe I forgot to mention Junior Dos Santos. He is the next HW champion if Fedor doesn't get it done. I am just too impressed by his boxing skills, and so much power.

Excellent find. 👆Speaking of Junior, he is slated to face Crocop at UFC 103 from what I hear. Hopefully, Crocop's talks of a sincere run for the belt aren't made empty by underestimating his opponent.
Here's my problem with Cro Cop.
1. He's too arrogant
2. He fights flat footed
The octagon is much bigger than the Pride ring. He can't stay flat footed and stalk is opponents down like he did in the ring. He needs to stop fighting flat footed.
As for Junior, he's going to KO Cro Cop in my opinion. I hope i'm wrong.
