Dana white threatening to cut Anderson is the most stupid shit ive ever heard. The leites fight wasnt silvas fault and neither was the cote fight. Regardless of that, u cant cut an undefeated champion that holds multiple UFC records just because he didnt "put on a show for fans". Yes he was extremely disrespectful and has gotten his own fans furious with him, but morality issues should be seperated from the results (which silva is stil getting). In any professional sports the primary goal of the athletes is to win.....pleasing the fans is secondary. Heck in football (soccer) we have teams that deliberately play boring styles of football because they know that it is effective.

Results should be considered over entertainment when determining a fighters status with the company.....this isnt professional wrestling.

Silva wastes people money, they pay to see him kick ass. The fans rather see him KO a guy than him being the typical show boating boring fighter.

I agree that it should be more about the skill set than the performance but this is not always true in MMA. I wish it where but the UFC strives for champions and contenders that adhere to putting on good fights for the fans. That's the soul reason why Frankie Edgar was given a title shot over Gray Maynard. It sucks sometimes but that's the way business rolls.
I don't think they'll get rid of Silva but I am interested to see what corse of action they would take it he continues having these types of fights.

These guys are starting to worry more about belts and paydays than kicking ass anymore.

Anyone watchin' Strikeforce tonight?

Of course!
I'm excited for all three title fights. Especially the Aoki/Melendez fight.

Frankly, the defense of Silva is laughable. I could probably make 2 10,000 character posts on how disgraceful Silva fought, but I don't have the patience for it.

His defense was bad because he wanted to goad Maia into sailing in.

😂 No they aren't. HOW did Maia disrespect Silva's skills? He downrate them in an interview?

Silva is just a Muhammad Ali wannabe .

Well, he has been about the only fighter apart from Ali to successfully use the phantom punch.

👆 Agreed.

Yup. Dana is pissed because he believes Anderson cost him quite a few potential new fans.

Oh and long time no see. First Mark Question appears and now you. I wonder what member we haven't heard from in a while will show up next? lol

Meh. The fans, even if they don't realize it, only pay to access the event. Silva, and any fighter for that matter, is not obligated or guaranteed to perform a certain way at all.

While I disagree with batdude123's assessment, I can understand his point. We simply attribute different motivations to Silva's antics.

The logic that you're buying an a la carte item for Silva to serve just ain't right though.

I honestly don't know what's wrong w/Silva anymore.

Spoiler:
Holy shit! Shields IS tough!!!! Didn't expect him to win. I don't know why Hendo let up on him in the 1st. Coulda finished him there. Noticed one thing during the fight. Hendo's standup is as 1-dimensional as it gets. He's got a hell of a right hand, but that's ALL he got. He's lousy when he's on his back too. Glad King Mo won. Glad Melendez won.
Strikeforce>>>Dream

I forgot Strikeforce was on and missed most of it. I came in on

Spoiler:
late Rd. 4 of Melendez vs Aoki. It's funny because Aoki called out the fighters in the west and wound up loosing to Melendez. Shields did a good job of recovering, although he should have been prepared for Henderson's hands earlier. He wouldn't have had to suffer a near KO if was on his game from the start.

Miller probably should have stayed in his seat, but the big brawl was just disgusting. People talk of Anderson Silva hurting MMA's image, but crap like the melee tonight is what does real damage. Strikeforce is on national television and these grown ass men can't behave themselves like adults. Jake apologized, but stuff like that shouldn't happen to begin with.

I meant the arguments people tried to use in defense of Silva's performance.

The Diaz brothers are silly. Miller just asked for a rematch and then someone (one of the Diaz's) punches him in the of the head.

I hate both of them.

I used to just hate Nick. Nate's turning into an ******* now too.

LOL @ "turning into"

Gotta agree with batdude123. The Diaz's have been rather unpleasant fellows for a while now. It's something of which they appear to be proud.

I remember hearing that Nick got picked on as a child. Maybe he developed his douche-like antics in reaction to that.

Did u see his interview after the strikeforce event? the guy sounded like a complete retard.

Anthony Njokuani
Mike Thomas Brown
Benson Henderson
Jose Aldo

Aldo is going to cause problems for Faber in the stand up, but I think Faber will pull it off.

Possible. If anybody can do it, it's Faber.

Jung just got ROBBED!

Spoiler:
what a standup clinic. Jose aldo is definitely one of the most complete fighters in the sport. Superb on the ground, Superb standing, Superb fighter.
Spoiler:
Damn. Call that fight "The Passion of The Faber". I wanted him to lose, but I didn't want him to get ****ed up like that. I hope he'll FULLY recover from this. I respect him for not quitting. Looks like Aldo just didn't wanna hurt him anymore by the end. Both my championship picks were right
