I thought Frank Mir and Josh Koscheck were mouthy until this prick came along.
And I thought Anderson Silva was the best p4p fighter until this "prick" came along.

You dickfaces take shit way too seriously. Just sit back and enjoy the entertainment.
If it wasn't for Chael's antics, can you honestly say that the Anderson fight would've garnered so much attention?

I didnt like that GSP crossed out that guy just because of his looks (what a prick). The dude won anwyays. GSP doesnt talk much, I like Josh better so far, he talks but not smack talk so far. Its about the fighters.
Don't worry, you'll get plenty of douchiness from Koscheck in later episodes.

Rampage vs Evans got popularity because both fighters shared mutual hatred and had a whole bunch of opportunities to trash talk on TUF and even a phone conference. It had a long buildup. In this case, Sonnen was the only one trash talking while Silva was just "Meh I'mma just give it my best shot, etc".
Would Sonnen's mouthing off have made a difference on the bout's attention? Not really, because it was one-sided. It was going to have a lot of attention regardless, it was a title fight.

This is a joke, yes?
Anderson's popularity was at an all-time low after the Maia fight (and for good reason). So much so that Dana threatened to fire him if he put on another performance like that. And considering the fact that leading up to the fight, nobody thought Chael had a chance in hell against Silva, the build up was placed solely on the shoulders of his shit talking.
Chael's mouth absolutely had an impact on the fight. Whether people wanted to see Anderson teach him some humility, or people wanted to see him back up his statements, it made a huge difference.
This again, Silva could have ended that fight at anytime in stand up or on the ground regardless of his injury. But Chael did what he said he'd do and no one believed him until then. He did backed up his smack talk with action. But does he still have to keep yapping like a angry Chihuahua? no. Now, I hope he gets his ass kicked.
