Ryan Gracie found dead at 33
Ryan Gracie (Pictures) was found dead Saturday in a jail cell at the 91st police station, in Vila Leopoldina, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The 33-year-old Gracie, who fought as a mixed martial artist exclusively for the now defunct PRIDE Fighting Championships and was the brother of Renzo Gracie (Pictures), was arrested on Friday for stealing a car and trying to steal a bike. The fighter had been transported to the station after a toxicological examination held in the Medical Legal Institute.
According to the Secretary of Public Security, the body of Gracie was found around 7 a.m. when police were checking the cells of prisoners. Gracie was alone was found fallen into a corner.
Experts of the Medical Legal Institute could not be reached Saturday to make the necessary examinations and direct the body of the fighter to the institute. According to his lawyer, Rodrigo Souto, the cause of death has not been disclosed by police.
Gracie was 5-2 as a mixed martial artist. After starting 1-2, including a decision loss to Kazushi Sakuraba (Pictures) in December 2000, Gracie went 4-0. His last win -- and fight -- came on Dec. 31, 2004, when he defeated Yoji Anjo by armbar.
Fights I'm looking forward too in MMA.
Rampage vs Forrest...Forrest has a never give up attitude...he's going to need it against Rampage.
Fedor vs Hong Man Choi should be entertaining that guys a huge and a strong stand up fighters, plus he has a wrestling background as well.
Wanderlei vs Chuck....a fight that has been overdue...still could be the fight that a lot of fans remember.
Dan Henderson vs Anderson Silva.....now this is the fight I'm looking forward too. Anderson Silva seems unstoppable right now. Dangerous Dan just went to war recently with Rampage for a very close fight.
Dan can throw some bombs but will Anderson accuracy striking be to much? Will see. They both seem very well versed in submission, Dan being a submission escape artist. This I want to see.
Originally posted by Healing ArtisanI'm not sure where I'd rank him. He is great though & undefeated at that weight. That guy he choked talked waaaaaaay too much shit b4 the fight. I don't think Jens would beat Faber. I'd really like to see them fight though. I wanna see Mir Vs Lesnar too
that anaconda choke was nice. jen's is great but in my opinion isn't top 10.
Originally posted by brainchild81my bad, i thought he was still LW. you're right, Jens should be top 10 for featherweight. undefeated at that class. makes sense.

I think Liddel will win. Mir fights Lesnar at that one right?

Only a few short days away until Liddell takes on Silva.
We also get to see Soko figh Machida, and St.Pierre take on Hughes for a second time.I'm pumped!
I'm fired up about Chuck/Silva. It will be good to see Silva compete again, i hope he is in top shape. The stare down is going to be sweet...
One of the best UFC events.
They had two awesome fights that night.

Thanx. He's got heart. I thought he'd dominate & then when he was GETTING dominated, I didn't expect him to come back & win.
I was waiting throughout that whole fight for Roger to KO him... the first two rounds I was unsure, but damn! The third round he came out blazing. Huge comeback. 🙂
I hope he gets a title shot sometime soon.
I think GSP is flat out better than Matt when both are at their best. Anybody see the All Access on Wandy? It's been coming on Spike & MTV. He's not w/Chutebox anymore, but his training is hardcore. I still think Chuck will win, but I'm not as sure as I was b4
