I think Jame Thompson had whats cauliflower ear (for more info on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cauliflower_ear) I re-watched the fight on youtube and it sort of looked like Slice tapped in the guillotine. personally I couldn't stand the dancers and Phil's(last name?) entrance was a very bad attempt at ripping off the WWE.

alot of fighters have cauliflower ears. it happens from wrestling and mainly kinds of ground training.

How long does it take to heal? Could he have popped it a couple days before or does it take the ten days with a doctor like wikipedia says.

I've seen many. His calli ear was the worst. I pick Faber & Torres to keep their belts. WEC on right now on Versus

Sums up my thoughts pretty well. It was pretty awful on all counts.

Pulver looked great. if he was a bit more aggressive, he would have had a great chance of KO'ing Faber.

good fight overall. Faber still has alot to learn on the striking.

He did a LOT better w/his striking than I thought he would though. Torres & Maeda had an all out war!! @one point they both had each other in toe holds. It was crazy.

IFL must be on it's last legs. Didn't notice a booth @WizardWorld Philly.

I wouldnt mind seeing rematch fights for both fights(Farber, Torres fights). Does the WEC announcer sounds a lot like Michael Buffer or is it just me?

Hopefully one of the major networks will sign a deal with one of the bigger MMA companies. At this point the only way i would watch Elitexc again is if Gina Carano was in it or if by some miracle they signed Tito Ortiz.

I know Pulver got rocked, but i was yellin at the tube "let your hands go man!" It was 25 mins, so stamina is an issue. And those big crazy rights Faber was throwing, how could Jens not see those coming? I know he's forgot more than i know about boxing, but damn! Faber just gets on my nerves... Good fight.

Elitexc is a f'n circus. They've had so many strange endings to fights in a very short run: eye pokes, broken bones, exploding ears, etc...
That show is a mess. Why the f wasn't JT's ear drained? They wanted it to burst... That show smelled so bad. They end the Lawler/Smith fight on a poke, before the 3rd ends of course, and then scream rematch... Whatever.

I think the cauliflower ear was fresh before the match, likely warming up and rolling in on the mats in the back with a trainer. It appeared to get slightly bigger from the first moment it showed it to the beginning of the fight. Also, you have a short period of time to drain the ear when you get it before the fluids inside solidify. It was obviously still in a liquid form when he popped it with that punch. I bet they were draining it before the fight, but it was refilling as he finished warming up. They probably decided warming up was more important than draining it.

The first fight was like 30 mins into the show. I was able to watch about 3/4s of "Ultimate Iceman" (really well made btw) on spike without missing much of Elitexc and I was still able to watch 3rd and about half the 2nd round of the Wanderl Silva vs Chuck Liddell fight and see most of the Lawler fight.

I think the ratings were due to the novelty of it. I know I (and others) won't tune in to another show until they up the quality and remove the excess idiotic showmanship.

One-hit wonder, imo, unless they make it legitimate, not the dog and pony showe we saw the other night.

Kimbo seemed to tap out in the 1st round. Was the damn thing fixed?
