Mainly because they know they cant afford to not have branch. But good god Seattle would have crazy WR depth if they got him.

Oh NE wants #1 picks for him. I think from Seattle they want a first round pick and a middle rounder because they know seattle will have a low first round pick.

Oh the Jets would be a good place.

I dont know about Seattle, but they did lose Jurvecious.

If they do get him, I think Seattle will be the top 3 teams and Hasselback a major chance of becoming MVP.

Here's a pic you might enjoy, then. I wonder if that blonde cashed in on any of the riches:

Don't forget about Big Ben.

Who wants to bet that Leinart will be next in line of "Drunk NFL Quaterbacks with hot chick who are not aware of camera"?

well we just found out hes got a baby on the way..

NE stuck to their deadline and no trade will be done. It looks like Branch will hold out the first 10 games then play the final 6 just to count as playing a season to be eligable for unrestricted FA and such things.

i think the giants will be okay. i see them going somewhere around 9-7 though.

hmm looks like speculation was right aout Domanick Davis as hes now on the IR. Gabriel was moved to the Pats... like him and brown can make up for branch. And lions officialy wasted a first round pick now that they cut rodgers. is he the ryan leaf of WR's?

I want a Ryan Leaf jersey. That would be hilarious.

oh and with the emergency appendectomy big ben had the steelers may be handing cinci the division. He will be out week 1 for sure adn is then week-to-week. Online it says it takes 4-6 weeks to fully recover from the surgery.

side note..

steve irwin was killed by a sting ray

Branch can still be traded right? They have till week 6.

branch can be traded although i am interested to see what happens with the hearings.

nope the deadline was Friday at 4, and as soon as 4 hit the Pats said no deal would be done. A deal can always be done until the deadline, but Branch no longer has the rights to go actively seek a trade with other teams. (the pats had NO intention on trading him) When he reached 2 deals the Pats made unrealistic demands knowing the teams wouldnt accept. Both teams made a counter offer and the patriots did nothing with those offer. Branch has an ok shot at winning in arbitration on the grounds that the Patriots did not actually try to help move him and it was all just a tactic in getting him to sign.

That's incorrect. Ward had an appendectomy in 2002 preseason and caught 8 balls 22 days later in the opener. He said if you can play with a little bit of pain, then you can play. There are 11 days between the opener and Game #2, so that will be a total of 16 days from the surgery until gametime, so he will play. Worse case scenario, 2 games missed max. So no, I do not expect the Steelers to be using the Bengals excuse of "if our QB was in there we would have won! weep excuse."

Since no work yesterday, I'll try to get 2 teams in today...which will leave only 2 teams (hmm, guess which ones those will be) for Wednesday and Thursday.

Philadelphia

I think they'll be better this year. Secondary was the biggest letdown this year. Seeing Buckhalter back is refreshing (I guess). I'm sorry, I'm feeling lazy this morning. Feel free to add something else.

Prediction: 10-6 (same record as everyone else in NFC East in a bizarre scenario)

Kansas City

Once again, an underrated receiving corps will go unnoticed. One day they'll die and people will be like, who the hell is Eddie Kennison? And someone will say, "he never humped the goal post after a touchdown" and everyone will know why he wasn't a household name.

Lazy again. Feel free to add your 2 cents.

Prediction: 11-5 and AFC West Champs

agree with both.

the eagles will be improved thanks to being healthy. still no receivers, but stallworth could be a monster. look for them to surprise.

the chiefs will be fine this year but this is their last good shot with their current roster. i think some of them actually remember the depression.

well its not incorrect. My friends dad is actually a surgeon and he said 4-6 weeks is standard recovery time, especially for physical activity. As with all medical procedures every case is gonna be different. Ward was out just over 3 weeks. I highly doubt Ben will be in week 2 if he took a hit to his abdomin that soon he could totaly rupture his wound and cause an even longer recovery time. Yea he very likely could be back for week 3. But it is possible he could be out up to week 5-6. The Steelers also have a very hard schedule the first 6 weeks.

Eagles will be better this year than last. But I think 10-6 is out of the question.. well thats assuming the Redskins arnt the team they have shown themselves to be in the pre-season, but both Saunders and Lewis have used almost no parts of their playbooks. McNabb and westbrooks ability to stay healthy is central to this offense having any hope. LJ is a pretty under rated TE and the D is solid. Id say 8-8 still last place in the East.

KC well they have 11 games that I think will prove to be tough. So assuming they take the 5 that look easy, they only need to win about half the tough ones to have a 10-11 win year. Definitely looks doable. But they have huge question marks too. Green is getting older, no roaf, no priest, no richardson, no saunders, can LJ bare the load for 16 games? can Gonzo return to his old form (no)

Well you may be right but also remember that standard recovery time is usually based on recovery times for wimps like you and me whose recovery plan typically involves Advil. Yes, the schedule is tough and I think this works out injury-wise in the team's favor (meaning, if they're going to lose games with Ben as the starter, it will probably be amidst the first six.)

What is Big Ben superman?

Philly - McNabb will be the same as before, totally annoying to tackle behind the line...(****er). Secondary should be healthy and Dawkins has looked like a beast this preseason. D- Line is great, but Kearse, I feel is overrated. The only problem I see is LB core. Trotter is great, but the other two guys are soo-oo. I really like to see how Stallworth works out.
8-8

KC - Johnson is great, but he might not do as good with that suspect o-line. Green will always be reliable and I see Gonzalas losing some of this talent. Defense line is good with Allen being the stud of it. I wonder how Hali will do in passing downs. Derrick Johnson will be the stud of the LB. Secondary, well, i still feel its the weak point of that defense.

Overall, 9-7

He will be wearing a bullet-proof vest (No Chargers jokes, please). Face it, Janikowski would kick us all to the curb. Hell, even David Akers could probably knock out a few of our teeth.

Everyone, take note of the where you are standing at this very moment...the moment you heard, for the first time in your life:
