hmm 4 facts all just spit out, very nice. and glad go bengals needed a seperate post. Are you a bengals fan who just hates on the lions?
Lions and Packers are not the same team, lions are actually several steps ahead of the packers, and im not sure the bears offense can score 30 points. Remember the lions just held Seattle (the #1 offense in the nfl last year) to 9 points in the form of 3 FG's.. that doesnt bode well for grossman.
Before watching the Eagles game today on Fox I had forgotten why I hated Joe Buck with a F*ckin' passion. Now I remember!! He's "the" worst commentator in sports IMO. I dont mind the John Madden, point out the obvious, but when he criticizes players for pretty much nothing that's when I started crunching my teeth. And it's just the constant repeating GOD I CANT STAND WHEN HE REPEATS! UHH Joe Buck you just said that 20 seconds ago, uhh Joe Buck you just said that before the commercial. I just cant watch games hes commentating, not anymore, and Aikman is the ultimate cosigner.
PLUS his voice is so annoying. I have to hear it throughout the football and baseball season ❌ . HELP! The MLB playoffs are on Fox looks like i'll be watching the game on mute.

Brunell's career may be over.
Too bad he aint is good as his brother.
One thing that I'm kind annoyed is about all that talk about how dominate the Bears are. They have played good...but really, it was against the Packers (who lost to the Saints) and the Lions...who did play well last week, but hardly a good team. I wanna see how they play against a good team, or atleast .500 team.
Bye Bye Cowboys....I was waiting for that...too bad...the defense is playing great.
EDIT: I guess I spoke tooo soon. Wow, Roy Williams (SS) is playing alot better than last year with 2 picks already.
yea brunell also made a HORRIBLE pass, he has nothing left, he is done.
The saints arnt that bad.. the offense has a good bit of talent on it actually. Plus its hard to hold oponnents so low and for someone as young as rex to have a nice 4 TD game is still impressive. But it will take a real opponent to really know the truth about them.
Yesh, this is now my favourite rules now.
If the defensive lineman gets held by the offensive lineman, the penalty is taken away if the defensive lineman powers through the hold. How does that work? Its still an hold.....
Washington does not look good at all. Considering how much money they spent on Gregg Williams, Al Saunders and Gibbs. It's not all Brunell. The offensive lineman havnt done anything, the WR's are not getting open, the defensive have played well, but not as dominate as I thought they would be. I always felt that Lloyd isnt the answer, and I didnt know why Randle El got that much money. He hasnt done anything really.
But good game by Dallas. Excellent defense and Newman played an fantastic game. I always felt he was one of the best CB in the league.
I turned the Raider game off after Brooks second fumble. I'm not watching a team that can't do pee wee level things such as taking a snap. I'm amazed they scored six points.
S.F. might be a surprise team this year. They won't make the playoffs, especially with Seattle and Arizona in the division, but I think they might go 7-9 or 8-8 which would be a huge improvement. Smith is looking a lot better in his second go around and Gore is a millions times better than Barlow
I dont think SF has any shot at 7-9 they might get 5 wins 6 as a stretch. THey still lack a lot of talent, but they play very hard harder then a lot of other low talent teams and I like that. SF is definitely not the joke of the nfl anymore they are well above titans, raiders, green bay, houston, i think the jets, cleveland, SF, Buffalo are in that next sector. Also the rams offense has been very poor and well their defense is never good.,.. yea they had a ton of turn overs week 1 but turnovers can often disguise a poor but aggressive D that was semi lucky as a good one.
oh TO broke his finger (O) 2-4 weeks
Watched all the games in portions, of course, but kept my main focus on Lions/Bears, Rams/49ers, and Cowboys/Redskins. I'm an AFC guy all the way, so during this first month or so where the Steelers only have one Sunday day game, I've made it a point to check out some NFC contests to become more familiar with a few of these teams. Stats and box scores are nice, but you really have to watch about 3-4 games from each team per year to truly get a feel about how they play.
I'll say one thing, the 49ers D-line looked awesome yesterday. When Steven Jackson found a seam, someone stuck a hand up to knock him to the ground and keep the gain to 4-yards instead of 14-yards. And the way they wrapped up Bulger with one hand on numerous occasions, they prevented him from rolling out and buy some time, where he would have most likely found Holt or someone in the flat. Hats off to them. Considering they're the Niners, they did a good job.
Everyone is right and wrong on their predictions, of course, so I'll say one I was right on and one I was wrong on. Right: I said the Carolina Panthers were only 1 or 2 injuries away from a disaster, and here we go. And no, I'm not referring to Steve Smith. Their O-Line is a patchwork pestilence. Wrong: I gave the Bears little credit as a complete team. When Grossman went back to pass every time, I knew there was going to be a receiver wide open on every attempt. Their offense looked fantastic, especially the passing part. Defense looked fine, but I was more impressed with the smoothness with which they clicked. Watch out for the Bears.
I watched a lot of football this weekend (college and pro), and I think I can say with some degree of accuracy that on passing attempts of 15 yards or more, I saw about as many defensive pass interference calls, illegal contacts, and defensive holdings as I did completions. No check that, how about catchable balls! There are two things I'd like to see be done this next off-season: 1) Reduce the penalty yardage to 15-yards in the NFL for pass interference or hell, just give them the 5 yards and automatic first down like for illegal contact, and 2) Provide a stat for each defensive back that calculates penalties / opportunity. By opportunity, I mean a passing attempt in their direction, towards a receiver that the DB has not checked off, is covering man-to-man or zone, or has shifted into coverage. I'd like to see those numbers. It sounds boring, but I'd bet a few numbers would surprise you. I also wouldn't mind the NFL releasing the penalties / game (with breakdown) for each reffing crew, while we're at it.
Eagles looked pretty impressive the first 2 weeks of the season...
BUT I do blame their offense and not their defense for losing the game to the Giants. It's just impossible to hold an offense like the giants down for long when you're on the field that much. In the second half they stop throwing the deep ball and got way too conservative. Mcnabb start holding the ball too long and scrambling when he didnt need to. Hes showing shades of the quarterback he was last year. But big props to Eli though, the Eagles left the door open and he took advantage. I just had a feeling in my stomach when PHI went up by 17 that they were going to start playing conservative and let the Giants back in the game.
Eagles are further weakened now that they lost Jevon Kearse for the entire season. Seeing that hit I just knew immediately he was going to be out for the season. Made me cringe ❌
