Okay, here's Sheridan's lines as of 2:52 EST Thursday, along with the over/unders. Hmm, I see the over/under for Chi/Det is 32. I guess they forgot to consider Detroit's 40 points single-handedly per Mr. Williams.
BALTIMORE 11½ Oakland 34
INDIANAPOLIS 13 Houston 47
CINCINNATI 10 Cleveland 42
MIAMI 6½ Buffalo 37
CHICAGO 9 Detroit 32
Carolina 1½ MINNESOTA 37
PHILADELPHIA 3 N.Y. Giants 43
ATLANTA 5½ Tampa Bay 36
New Orleans 2½ GREEN BAY 38
St. Louis 3 SAN FRANCISCO 44
SEATTLE 7 Arizona 47
NEW ENGLAND 6 N.Y. JETS 37
SAN DIEGO 11½ Tennessee 37½
DENVER 10½ Kansas City 39½
DALLAS 6 Washington 37
Pittsburgh 1 JACKSONVILLE 37
well I do go by spreads generally (i bet on games myself) I also started picking for my friends office pool this year. I had avery good week 1 (10-16), but the lines this week are not better friendly ones. Also a lot of these lines are sitting at key numbers and I would have to watch them constantly waiting for them to move one way or another. That is the one problem with office pools they have to lock in the lines early so really you have to play the favorite more often.
Let me explain this real quick for those who dont know and may care.
The lines will move, they adjust them to try and get even money on both sides of the line. **Generally** (i do not claim this to be an absolute) the favorite will always get the early action, meaning the lines come out people start betting on the favorites to win -whatever. So as money comes in on the favorite the line makers will adjust it to make the underdog even more attractive, meaning they give them more points.
Example:
Week 1 Seattle opened as - 3 1/2 @ detroit. People bet heavily on seattle and so the line kept moving to -4, -4 1/2 eventually when the game kicked off it was at -6 1/2 (may have been 7 depends where you look)
So, the moral of the story is if you like the spread of a team that is the favorite jump on it early, if you like an underdog wait on that. I wanted the Jags last week and i didnt place my bet until about 2 minutes to kick off, instead of having them -2 like they opened at I was able to get them at +2 1/2
Where this really matters is teams opening at 2/6/ because you wanna have a favorite under 3/7 and an underdog over 3/7 so yea its all a crazy.

Yeah, who cares, really? I hope it doesn't go through.
It would be like banning anyone from football who uses steroids. Half the league would be gone. It's unfortunate, but if you don't think that's at least close to the truth, you'd be deluding yourself. Athletes take money, sleep with lots of women, take steroids, drive recklessly, etc.
I've stopped looking to athletes as people that need to be held to some perfect moral standard, in that sense. I just frown at the situation, but enjoy the spectacle of the sporting event anyway, because that's all most great athletes are good for.
The whole Reggie Bush situation is really making me angry. First I dont think they will be able to prove anything, well actually im just really hoping, For Reggie Bush and USC sake. I back Reggie 100% and I wont hate him if they end up takin our national championships away. The rules are just plain ol' D.U.M.B.
I know it means he is ruled ineligible but even if it did happen it doesnt mean USC knew anything about it and just let it happen. So dont strip the championship away because Reggie wasnt the only person on the team. In the end I dont want nor do I think they will strip anything away from Reggie Bush or USC. I mean I kinda already HATE Vince Young but if he ends up getting the heisman trophy Bush deserved and Bush won then I will be contemplating MURDER(LOL J/k), but you get how much this will impact me and a lot of USC fans.

Most of these games are pretty 1 sided.. ill differ on a few close ones. [/QUOTE I disagree with 5 of your choices
1 Pittsburgh wins
2 Dallas wins
3 Tennessee wins
4 Jets win
5 Minnesota wins

I feel like im picking on you... but it just seem slike you make comments without any research. This isnt possible. Dallas and washington are 0-1 and play eachother meaning one will be 0-2

Other than Tennessee I think those are all perfectly viable. (well i think the jets are a stretch too but they have some shot) You should bet on the titans if you really believe that but im assuming ur just a
fan cause the team is horrible.
on reggie. there is apparantly evidence that USC did have knowledge of it. I like reggie a lot but thye have to punish him if it comes to it to prevent this in the future. If they dont prove USC had knowledge they wont strip usc of anything. Also theres a big part of this I left out before. Millions of dollars. USC would lose a lot of money from this.
well sh*t I coulda sworn I heard WAS won there game, I didnt actually see it but someone told me they won it. *Fires his sources*
ON USC/REGGIE- I was watching ESPN last night and as much as I hate some of there analyst they're right. How do you prove something like this?? If Reggie did do it then uhh fine him please but DONT take the heisman away ❌ ❌ PLEASE DONT. BUT yeah you cant take away a national championship that they never won.
they did win a national championship reggies sophmore year, they lost to texas reggies junior year. The thing with the heisman is it clearly states a player MUST be eligible to recieve votes, this would defualt vince young as the winner most likely. THey may not prove USC has knowledge and USC may not get any punishment.
