I work for an escalator company and we have booked the new Cowboys stadium job, set to be shipped early Summer 2007. 22 escalators and our elevator plant in Gettysburg is doing 16 elevators. It's a monster job.
We don't get all the sports stadiums, but most of them. We just completed the units for the Dolphins Stadium renovations.
If you ask me I think Brees should get the MVP. He has done more with less. Sure he has Colston, Horn, and Bush as weapons, but Colston and Horn have been hurt during some crucial games, and when they were out Brees has still put up amazing numbers and played like a MVP, and Bush hasn't been there the whole season either. Bush has played great the past 3 or 4 games but before that, he was pretty much used as a decoy, and teams could shut him down. The only consistant weapon Brees has had all year is Deuce.
L.T. has had a healthy O-line, Rivers, Gates, and the backup to L.T is playing great as well, so L.T has less pressure. I'm not trying to take anything away from L.T because the guy is a stud on the field, and if he wins the MVP noone is gonna say he is undeserving, but consider the health, and talent around both teams I would say Brees deserves it a little more than L.T, espicially if Brees hits the 5,000 mark.
again i think the passing record could be broken if someone set out to do so, its rare a good player needs to throw that much.
I dunno take either player away and the teams do poorly, however imagine NO with Rivers at QB and everyone else the same, and SD with say Deuce at RB and everyone else the same. Which team gets farther? I think the answer is easily the saints. SD would fall off much more than NO would I think.
also you said yourself reggie was always a distraction even if he wasnt putting up huge numbers. Teams have to worry about the run game a lot from NO, in SD the pass game isnt great (the WR's are pretty terrible) so teams PLAN on stoping LT and they cant... you dont see teams playing the saints like they are the colts and playing only the pass (at least not yet)
theres also this question of schedule. everyone of brees' 300 yard+ games have been against teams with average to terrible seccondarys. with Baltimore beign the exception, but im willing to bet about 95% of his yards that game were for abusing Rolle.
Brees is having a great year. but i dunno i just cant get away from LT on this one. I think he is not only better but also more valuble. Theres pretty much no RB you could put in his place and still have SD be in this position, i think you could put a different QB in brees place and still have the saints in this position.
oh and also at his current pace he is gonna come up 122 yards short of the record.
Also manning will break a marino this record most seasons 4,000 or more yards. and also extend his own record of 4,000+ yard seasons to 7 (just a side note not saying he should be MVP)

Your saying a record that nonbody has broken since 84 is easier to do than LT's?
I dont think so. Getting over 5000 yards is pretty bloody hard to do, its 317 yards per game...thats hard.
LT deserves it, but the TD record really doesnt matter anymore. Take away LT, and the Chargers arent as good. But they're still damn good , theyre defense is still pretty good.
Take away Bree's and what do you have? The same Saints last year. Bree's turned that team around and nonbody else (aside from the coach), and thats why I would give it too Brees over LT. Thats if he breaks the record.
If he doesnt, give it too LT.
No offense, but you say that the record can be broken if somebody sets thier mind to it and that nonbody needs to throw the ball that much, but doesnt that just prove how invaluable Bree's is to the Saints?

Thats because those teams aren''t stupid, you also don't see teams defending the run constantly with the Chargers because they respect Rivers. Gates and Mcardell(sp?) are far from terrible for the Chargers, and there passing game.

He's played like an MVP against any defense put in front from him, from the Panthers front 4 to the Baltimores secondary. Its not just about yardage, he's also leading the league with touchdown passes

San Diego's backup running back leads the league with yards per carry, I forget his name, but if he wasn't on SD he would be a starter just about any other team. I;m not saying he is as valuable as L.T but if L.T got hurt SD would be in good hands, takeaway Brees and put in N.O backup, and the Saints are going to be up shit's creek.

They play on a surface that bubbles (like you're trying to press out a unevenly-applied sticker) under intense weather. Other than that, the field was fine. 1st quarter, fumble-mania. On one play 6 SF players had their hands on the ball before Seattle recovered.

I hate to sound like Phil Simms, but it was one of those games where "if you let a team hang around long enough, they're gonna come back and bite you."
Hackett had a good game for the Birds, and you can say the game really changed on Battle's long reception. I think if that had not been completed, SF would have continued their offensive rut until the very end.
And I give major props to Alex Smith for hanging in there. 1st Half was horrible, but he bounced back in a major way. That shake-off of Herndon's corner blitz was amazing, and then he still had the instinct to find Gore in stride for the TD.

I personally would still give it to Brees, but I'm sure that would earn L.T more votes from other people if that were to happen(but we both know its not)
About ROY, You could argue that Bush isnt even the Best Rookie on the Saints, Holston has had just as much as impact in the beginning of the season as Bush is having in the latter part of the season. But I'm not touching that one yet, I'd rather wait to the end of the season because there are so many canidates for it. As for as MVP, L.T, Brees and maybe even L.J. are the only candidates in my mind.
