NFL Talk

T.O. scores 2 TD's and spits in D. Halls face(💃)

Well I think a lot happened today. For one Reggie pretty much took himself out of the ROY chase. A grand 2 yards per carry and only 19 yards on 5 catches. Meanwhile Colston kept it up with 7 for 84. And Jones-Drew also kept rolling on with 98 rushing 47 receiving and 1 TD. Also hopefully the Vince Young ROY talk will be died down with his grand 8/14 performance including taking a huge 22 yard sack when he should of thrown it away, and then with 1 minute left throwing it away instead of taking a sack and letting the clock run almost totaly out. (great game titans D to win one for Vince)

And then the MVP, i think the brees hype can die down now. With 200 yards and 1 INT certainly not a great day for brees (and marino can sleep easy now)

Yeah, it wasnt.

I wnt to the packer Game today

Farve is now the Quarterback with the most compleations ever of the NFL. Won the game 17-9

Ok, so on top of the poor game by Brees. LT goes for almost 200 and another 2 scores. He breaks a record older than marinos (single season scoring record) and he should win the rushing title, and not just beat Alexander but he is smashing that record. MVP race is OVER.

Saints have clinched their division title but they are battling for the bye. So I guess they will be playing hard the rest of the way. Drew Brees cn still get 5,000 and if he does then he wins it, if he doesnt then LT wins it.

what does 5,000 mean? not marinos record its closer to 5,081 And Brees will need I think it is 422 yards a game in the last 2 to do it. And even still LT has broken older records and more records, and broke them by much larger margins. (most rushing TD's in a season, most TD's in a season, most points in a season, and the rushing title)

Also lets see today LT's team did not perform very well especially Rivers. LT took it over and won the game. Brees was unable to do the same and he was against a considerably weaker opponent.

That's awesome. I went to the Steelers / Panthers game yesterday with a few of my buddies (devoted 14 hours of travel, tailgating, attendance, and consumption). Talk about a team quitting! Anyhoo, nothing big considering it was a blowout. However, I sat on Row 8 on the lower level in the end zone, centered with the goal post - and lucked out and got the "right" end zone. Literally right in front of me, got to see 3 sacks, missed FG, FG, blocked punt, end zone interception, 3 touchdowns, and a family of four that I think we scared away right after halftime. Nice day!

ehh, I still wouldn't rush to judgement and hand the trophy for MVP to L.T yet, There is still one or two more important games were Brees could play great, and L.T could play average, there are also some other things you need to consider, like the talent on both teams. L.T played great, but he had help from the O-line, and his supporting cast(Neal, and Turner). Brees had no help from his cast who were dropping touchdown passes, and long yardage gains. I'm not saying L.T isn't deserving of MVP, because obviously his is, I'm just saying the race isn't over yet

I've also noticed I haven't heard A.J Hawks name much for ROY. He leads his team in tackles(over a hundred) and is second in sacks on the team.

That is because we were discussing the Offensive Rookie of the Year. I'm pretty sure AJ Hawk is one of the best rookies on defense.

could devon hester count for defensive ROY? i mean he does play CB... lol it would kinda be a cheap way of giving it to him... but if he does count that 6 special team TD's sure would win it.

And I can tell you who will not be D ROY.. Mario Williams.

I think ROY's are sometimes a joke.

It doesnt really show how good a player will be, just that he had a chance of playing more usually. Granted, they are ROY's that are excellent, but they're countless of players who never get it just because they didnt have a chance to play.

Mario Williams wont win it, but I wont be surpraised if he turns out to be a great D-line.

And welcome back to Day 33 of our network's Rookie of the Year and MVP deliberations. Up next: A 4-month analysis of the coveted Tee-Fetcher of the Year award.

Playoff Picture:

If the season ended today, here would be the 1st weekend lineup:

IND, SD byes
AFC wild-card matchups
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens
Denver Broncos at New England Patriots

CHI, NO byes
NFC wild-card matchups
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
Philadelphia Eagles at Seattle Seahawks

There are two more 8-6 teams in the AFC (Jets, Jags with poor conference records), and Atlanta is the other 7-7 team in the NFC but loses the tie-break because they were blown out of the stadium by the Giants. Believe it or not, the Packers are only 1 game out of the wildcard spot, but only have a 5-5 conference record (1 worse than NYG).

I'm picking the Seahawks to lose their last two and the 49ers to win their last two and then it's goodbye Seahawks.

And to go along with everything LT has this year, with the two records, and the way his team is playing, he has to be mvp, and they're one of my pick's to go to the superbowl.

Charges have 9 players going to the pro bowl, Bears have 7, Chargers 9 is crazy, but they all deserve it especially Neal. For the past 10 of his seasons, the running back he has blocked for has ran for 1,000+yards.

Two suprises that didnt make it were Brady and Owens.

I'm surpraised that Owens didnt get in either. As much as people dont like him, he has had a great year.

What I dont like is that Newman didnt get the nod for CB. Cant have everything.

True.

Seattle will almost definitely win 1 more, and SF will almost definitely lose 1 more.

Pro Bowl..

Boldin??? That shoulda been Roy Williams, TO, or Colston.. or even darrel jackson or plaxico.. theres a long line of guys more diserving than boldin this year.

I kinda like Favre over Romo also mainly because Favre played all year and has so much less talent around him.

It was good to see Wayne finally acknowledged.

Oh and just to clarify you are rooting against your cardinals just to see seattle miss the playoffs?
