NFL Talk

Meh, done this argument before with a high-caliber NFL fan (Forum). Not worth doing it again on another level.

And that brings us to Michael Vick. I was listening to sports talk, and they're all saying the same song and dance. Blah, blah, blah...get rid of Vick. There goes Nike. Jersey sales plummeting. The guy's not even convicted yet, etc....

One correspondant (from 790 The Zone in Atlanta) actually said something interesting. And I hope to God this isn't racial, but something tells me I'd be naive to think otherwise. He said the city is practically divided right down the middle on the issue. Half say they never want to see Vick suit up again. The other half say they will not spend another dime on the Falcons if they release him.

I wouldnt be surpraised if it was racial.

I never liked him and I dont think he is the great as people say he is. He's a physical speciman.

I highly doubt Race has anything to do with Vick being accused of doing such hideous things with dogs. If any of this is true then he should be found guilty, thrown out of the NFL and sent to a fed pen to be someones.........

he was saying race being behind the fan support in ATL split 50/50 not being behind the indictment.

Either way falcons are in trouble just because of the time Vick will miss from camps whether he is guilty of anything or not wont change the fact hes gonna miss important time with a new coach and a new system. Losing Schaub may have been a huge mistake.

No one Arthur Blank to trade him. Besides Blank is a dog lover, despite what he said, this is going over well with him. Perhaps Blank suspend Vick himself.

It's Vick, he can just run right around people. He doesnt throw to anybody because he has no WR's and well, you cant compare him to any other QB because he runs. (Lord Evo, JK, just being an dick, and if you have no idea whats going on, I'll just shut up hahaha)

Granted, I cant really blame the Falcons for them trading Schaub. They had to get something from him and how could the Falcons possibly think that Vick would be indicted for dog fighting.

I dont think anybody should worry, or hope. Vick will never get convicted. This is the NFL aka celebrities, somehow he will get cleared of all charges. Heck, the Falcons should be happy he got indicted. They'll be better without him.

With Joey Harrington?

If Joey Harrington leads the Falcons to any victories I must have won the lottery. HAHAHAHAHA

D.J. Shockley will provide competition, but he is not the answer either. Frankly, last preseason he was outplayed by Bryan Randall (I believe Shockley went 0 for his first 7 passes and looked nervous as hell out there), and I was shocked that Shockley (haha) got the #3 QB job. I thought with Vick's influence, VT star Randall would get the nod, but they went with the UGA wishy-washy guy instead. There was some kind of booster-like politics going on behind the scenes, obviously, with that one.

I think the overall picture without Vick would be better for the Falcons. I know if he does go to jail, and I think he wont, this year, or next year would be a dud because yeah, Harrington sucks.

But over the course of season, I think losing Vick would help the Falcons in long term.

But if they get Daunte then they could have a shot without Vick.

Culpepper will most likely go to the Jaguars. The Falcons seem content with Harrington. Especially since Vick will prolly play.

I think thats stupid on Daunte's part.

I understand that Culpepper wants to see how well he can play. I think that he may be able to get back to the form he had a few years ago when he challenged for the td record and the yards record. If he got back to that form, Culpepper would be back.

I think the Jaguers would be a good fit. Leftwich isnt the answer to that team.

ur correct race has nothing to do with this. if u do a crime and are guilty what does race have to do with the crime. white, black or whatever if u are this cruel to animals say goodbye to ur freedom. he ruined his life. he has flicked off his fans. hes a disgrace and hasnt handled the spotlight well at all. he ruined his own life not you or me.

i feel culpepper wont be ever to get back to his old form. that was then and with all his significant injuries hell never be back to that tip top shape. its a shame but he lost what he once had. he was never good enough to win a superbowl in my opinion though.

The Vikings with Culpepper and Moss could have won a superbowl. Despite their problems with each other Moss and Culpepper were a great tandom. It's a shame their defense wasn't good.

When they had that team, they had absouletly no defense what so ever. They wouldnt of made the Superbowl because they didnt.

Now their defense is gettin really good, PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS.
