Watch Belichick(or is it Bellichick?)make a trade to get another 1st round pick.

Is that thier own first round pick?, or the 49ers?

If its thier own, big ****ing deal. They still have the 49ers.

It would be their own.

The punishment for the Pats is in...

The NFL slapped Bill Belichick with a maximum fine of $500,000 Thursday night for videotaping Jets' defensive signals Sunday. The Pats were fined $250,000 and will lose a '08 first-round pick if they reach the playoffs; or second- and third-round picks if they miss the playoffs.

i wish it would have been more severe. i have been reading up on the stories and there is a story that its been going on since 2000.

this officially taints all the super bowl wins.

They spy and clearly breaking the rules and they get punished with an top 28 first rounder gone, even though the 49ers will probalby be in the top 20.

Who gets that pick then?

I agree it should've been more severe, but I guess in Goodall's eyes this hurts more.

I think they should have had to forfeit the game as well..Regardless if the taping made any difference, it's the principle of the matter. Also Bill should have got a 4 game suspension in my opinion. Big freaking deal if he got fined 500k, and the Pats 250k. If they can cheat their way to superbowls, 750k is a small price to pay a year lol. Some teams pay alot more for players and don't even sniff a SB win. Hell even take away some of their home games! Ok that might be a little much considering you'd give some teams extra home games, but I'd rather a harsh penalty than some stupid slap on the wrist.

then do you make every team with any caught using Roids or anything like that forfeit every game that player played in?

No, you ban them after 2nd offense imo.

It think is different though than steroids.

I think monetary fines completely useless in this day in age.

The first rounder should be a guarenteed first rounder. If they dont make the playoffs, its only 3rd and 5th rounder. That's brutal.

I think they should forfeit the game that they got cheated in, first rounder taken away, and Belicheck shouldnt be allowed on the premises for 2 games.

i dont like that they have to forfeit the game because where do you draw the line? If a coach breaks a rule you forfeit if a player does he just gets suspended? Who is to say what version of cheating gives a bigger advantage. Monetary fines are totally worthless, would be better to do like a salary cap penalty. And I like taking away draft picks. The only thing I would have liked to see was a suspension for billicheck especially with SD coming up.

Maybe forfeiting the game could be a bit much, but I do agree about all the other things

I think when it comes down to stealing signals, its a big deal because they directly influences the game to the point on where the team has an massive advantage.

Player on the otherhand, he will probably make a few plays here and there but overall, doesnt really affect the whole game beceause the other team has numerous chances of taken away that player through scheming, or special teams, or offense or defense, but if the team knows what play is going to happen on the defense side of things, they can win everytime.

Oh yea I am sure everyone has seen this (if you watch football its been on a lot) but regardless the Merriman/Jackson Nike commercial is one of the most bad ass commercials I have seen in a long time...

For those that dont know what I am talking about:

Setting it to last of the mohicans was the perfect choice.

Yeah, it's good times. Except for the ending, since they don't show the Steelers stuffing him just before the goalline.

fair enough

Just watching football. I must say that the New Orleans Saints are vastly overrated.

WTF are the bengals doing. Wow Ravens officially have the worst offense in the NFL seeing how easy the Browns can move the ball on the Bengals.
