Nobody thought the Colts could beat the Patriots at home and in a playoff game.

I did.

But most didnt.

I posted this in the patriots undefeated thread and thought it should be posted here as well since I know a lot of people arent posting there anymore. I saw this in my local sports page today about the patriots who are going into todays game needing to win their finale game against the giants today to finish 16-0 as we all know.

After seeing this, people who hate the patriots cant really say anymore like i was saying myself which was-Man the patriots have an easy schedule, they didnt earn it.Well yeah their schedule wasnt as difficult as the Colts was and wasnt as tough but when you look at this article, they had a much tougher schedule than the 72 dolphins did.it goes on to say this about the 72 dolphins.

In any comparison between the 2007 Patriots and the 1972 Dolphins,New England,if successful tonight, would come out ahead.

The 72' Dolphins, through no fault of their own, played just TWO teams with winning records-the chiefs and the Giants, who both finished 8-6 and missed the playoffs. The 72' Dolphins opponents were a combined 70-122-4,a .367 winning percentage.

The Patriots have withstood a first-place schedule that has seen them defeat division champions San Diego,Dallas,Indianapolis and Pittsburgh, and survive a three- game stretch of taxing prime-time games against Philadelphia,Baltimore, and Pittsburgh during nov 25-dec.9.

I never knew that about the 72 dolphins.after knowing THAT,that they beat only two teams that year with winning records,Im not so impressed with them now that they went undefeated like I have been all these years.

Also something I have mentioned on the patriots undefeated thread that I havent here is that as we all know, the patriots should have lost those two games against baltimore and philadelphia, that they just got some lucky breaks in that game.Well the dolphins did as well back then.My uncle told me he remembered that year very well and there were a couple games the dolphins just got lucky that they won as well that they also should have lost.

That there were a couple of games where the other team had the lead towards the last two minutes or so in the game, but they fumbled the ball or threw a dumb interception deep in their own territory that allowed the dolphins to come back and win those couple of games they should have lost if the other team had taken care of the ball that day.

I know you dont like the patriots Smasandian so its probably not too comforting to hear that huh? 😉 well Im not crazy about the patriots either cause Bill Belicheck is the most over rated coach in the league .Without Tom Brady he would be nothing. All you got to do is look at his NFL record while with the cleveland browns as a head coach and with the patriots before he had tom brady and was stuck with Drew Bledsoe his first year as patriots coach and he has a really bad losing record. But as that article says, they are much more deserving of going undefeated today than the dolphins ever were.

I'm going to blow if I hear anymore about the Patriots! It's driving me crazy!

Perfection was done tonight. Tom Brady is simply undaunted. Eli Manning proved once again why he will never be anything like his brother. All that remains for the Patriots is winning the SuperBowl and I don't see anybody stopping them.

Eli played great almost the entire game. The Giants just ran out of steam in the last half of the 4th, is all. Plus they were frustrated.

Eli did play a good game though the offense as a whole was out of it for most of the fourth quarter. I think it was the defense who had to step up more and while they were putting pressure on Brady, he was still getting his passes off and the Giants could not stop the Patriots WR from catching the ball. It seemed that Patriots scored on almost every single drive. (maybe not 2)

Man what a great game.I never thought a giants game with Eli manning at quarterback would be a competive game.Like most,I figured this would be a blowout. This was not an easy game for the patriots, they had to fight tooth and nail to come back and win it.they had to earn this one and it was not easy. What a great way to end the whole season for them having the game come down to the wire like that.

yeah same here.Yeah you watch Eli Manning play and you scratch your head.its hard to believe that he and peyton are actually related.Once again as always,he threw a costly interception that he does in so many big games when the game is on the line.

Vikings are down 14-3. If they come back and end up winning, but the Redskins still win because the Cowboys blow dick, I'll be pissed.

Well, it was pretty obvious that the Redskins will win today.

Something is off with the Cowboys offense. Could be Romo's thumb, or something different.

And man, where the hell did our run game leave. We have none whatsoever.

i hope so badly the titans lose to sorgi

Sadly, they didn't...

It's not really all that fair, but that's how it goes, I guess...

The Browns I think, deserved to go to the playoffs more... They NEVER get to the playoffs, and when they're actually good enough to get there, some other team loses, and they lose their chance...

This is almost as bad as the Patriots going 16-0... But then again, it's not THAT bad...

I am a Browns fan, yes I am frustrated we didn't get into the playoffs with a 10 - 6 record, but we could have had it last week with a win over the Bungles. On a Browns forum I go to, all of the fans are mad and saying that the Colts laid down, etc etc. If we had beat the Bungles last week, no one would have cared about tonights game. So in my eyes, it's our own fault we didn't get in. But its still a good accomplishment to get 10 wins, especially in Cleveland.

But that also proves how strong the AFC is. If Cleveland was in the NFC, we would have won our division. lol

I dont think the Colts laid down. They rested the offensive starters, rightfully so. Every other team did that except the Pats, but we all know why the Pats did that.

I dont know about the Titans though. I'm really surprised they got in but if you look at thier schedule and who they won against its not very surprising.

They won against 2 teams that are above .500 and one team that is at .500, but if the Colts played all thier starters, there is no way the Titans would of won tonight, so basically they beat the Jags in the first game of the season and one against the Texans twice.

Personally, I cant see the Titans winning against the Chargers. I think the Titans have a better chance of winning if Kerry Collins plays and not Vince Young.

If Cleveland was in Seattle's division, I would think they would win it. If they were in the East, no way in hell.

Another post for my predictions (didnt want to run out of space)

AFC Wild:

Jags over Steelers
Chargers over Titans

NFC Wild:

Redskins over Seahawks
Giants over Bucs

AFC Division

Pats over Jags (very close game though)
Colts over Chargers (redemption for the loss)

NFC Division

Cowboys over Redskins
Giants over Packers (upset)

AFC Champ

Pats over Colts

NFC Champ

Cowboys over Giants

Superbowl

Pats over Cowboys

MVP - Brady (but should go to Moss)
Def - Bob Sanders (too important for the Colts and the best safety in the league)

Roy O - Peterson
Roy D - Willis

Coach - I'll go with either Gruden, Dungy or Belicheck (personally with Dungy because with all those injuries, the team is still impressive )

I don't think so either.

I was just saying how it's much harder for a team to get into the playoffs in the AFC then it is in the NFC.

True.
