Looks like someone in the Browns' front office made a phone call to Daniel Snyder about how to "build" a franchise through free agency and win championships. Oh, wait...

Hahah.

Yeah.....

Drafting? What's the draft?

Big Ben 8 years 102 million

36 million guaranteed.

Yikes!

Very sad news indeed....

Moss is such a tease

It's a tad high, but it's what the market's bearing. In five years that will be a bargain. We can all thank Marc Bulger, Donovan McNabb, and Carson Palmer for setting the bar of mid-to-upper tier franchise QB salaries.

Finances aside, I'm glad Ben's signed until 2015 (or at least until the contract is voided!!!!)

Remember how every year the Redskins had like 2 picks in the draft but had all these once-proven players cashing big paychecks on their roster. All while some washed-up QB (although Brunell was damn good in his prime) was there to lead the Skins to victo---I mean, nowhere.

ESPN.com Reported that the Jets have agreed to terms on a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals that would send DT Dewayne Robertson to the Bengals in exchange for their 4th and 5th round picks in this years upcoming draft.

Not a bad trade imo. The Bengals need to do something.

Scratch this.
We did sign Antwan Odom though.

Come on...

In between this meager announcement, you people havnt realized that the Pats, in thier mysterious ways, used the Moss signing to cover up the more important signing, a signing that could possibly change the structure of the NFL...and that person is, Sam Aiken.

Just at the bottom of the link, http://www.tsn.ca/nfl/news_story/?ID=231165&hubname=

Watch out guys....pure crazy. This is totally an eff you signing.

Good moves by Savage in my opinion. No D-Lineman in the draft that would be available when Cleveland wass set to draft would have been better than who we picked up this past weekend.

Stallworth is just an added bonus, I don't see Stallworth as a go to receiver, all I ask him to do is take some of the coverage off Winslow and Edwards. I do think they paid too high for him though.

You actually thought Moss wouldn't re-sign with the Pats? He wants a ring.

Then there were better options.

Better options than a team that went 19-1?

I think out of all the teams, he chose the correct one to stay with.

Like I said before, New England got worse over the offseason. There are a few a teams that would be better than New England right now if he Moss went to that team instead.

Right now even with the addition of Moss I don't see the Pats head and shoulders above everyone. I think the Colts are the best team in the AFC.

No question they've made good moves, but it's more along the lines of "I'm mad as hell (at the 9-game losing streak) and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!!" Anything to break the streak.

And don't get me wrong, I'd much rather see them get back to bitter rival status over sorry saps like the Bungholes or Ratbirds.

I see what you mean. But I like how Savage is putting my team in a "win now" mode, not a "win sometime down the road" mode.

I think the rivalry between Cleveland and Pitt is definitely coming back this year. We should have had you last year in the 2nd game but our front 7 couldn't stop Big Ben from running 20 yards at a time. disgust

A great run: Favre decides to retire

I'm sure the corners of the NFC North are very sad.

I've got a completely off-the-wall question that's been bugging me for some time. I just remembered it when I read the part in the Favre article about how he was "voted to the Pro Bowl, but declined to go."

'Cause let's be honest, although the Pro Bowl is crap, having that "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag is a helluva resume builder.

That being said, which of the following are correct? (This isn't a test, but rather the best way I could think of to get my concern across):

a) If you're voted to the Pro Bowl starter but decline to go, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl-Selection" tag.

b) If you're voted as an alternate and don't go, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag.

c) If you're not voted to the Pro Bowl, get a last-second invite but turn that down due to injury or decision, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag.

d) If you're not voted to the Pro Bowl but get a last-second invite and actually go and play, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag.

If all were true, half the league could be Pro Bowl selections if everyone kept backing out. For example, if all 6 starting QB's backed out and were replaced by 6 last-minute adds, would all 12 be considered Pro Bowl QB's for that year?

Nobody is happier than Aaron Rogers. 😛

Hats off to Favre, incredible career and impossible to dislike.

I've always wondered that as well Botankus.

It was a good time for Favre to retire so that Rodgers can grow with the team's young nucleus.
