'Cause let's be honest, although the Pro Bowl is crap, having that "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag is a helluva resume builder.

That being said, which of the following are correct? (This isn't a test, but rather the best way I could think of to get my concern across):

a) If you're voted to the Pro Bowl starter but decline to go, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl-Selection" tag.

b) If you're voted as an alternate and don't go, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag.

c) If you're not voted to the Pro Bowl, get a last-second invite but turn that down due to injury or decision, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag.

d) If you're not voted to the Pro Bowl but get a last-second invite and actually go and play, you still get another notch on your "XX-time Pro Bowl Selection" tag.

If all were true, half the league could be Pro Bowl selections if everyone kept backing out. For example, if all 6 starting QB's backed out and were replaced by 6 last-minute adds, would all 12 be considered Pro Bowl QB's for that year?

Personally, if you decline to go, you shouldnt get the Pro Bowl moniker or any bonuses or incentives.

If you get voted in, you have to go unless your injured. Brady and Moss declined to go because of the Superbowl loss. Know what? Suck it up and play.

Nobody is happier than Aaron Rogers. 😛

Hats off to Favre, incredible career and impossible to dislike.

Rogers is no Favre. Green Bay will struggle for a few years.

I don't think they will. They have very good receivers, young receivers, and an up and coming running back.

I think they'll be a playoff team next season with Rodgers as the starting QB. The Yack will definitely make things easier for him.

I really wanted Favre vs. Brady in the superbowl.

Stupid Giants....

I wasn't a Green Bay fan but thanks for the memories Brett. 👆

Green Bay still has a good chance to make the playoffs but I don't think they have as good as chance to make the superbowl as they did this year with Farve.

Favre's last pass.

I'm sure he'll be missed 😉

Favre was the man and if your point of that picture was to show open guys when he threw a pic then take a cap before he threw not after the ball has traveled down the field.

Agreed.

Also, Warren Sapp. haermm

I think Packers are just as good with Rodgers than Favre.

Remeber the Pack-Cowboy game this year?

He tried to do way to much. He wasnt getting the deepball, but he continued to throw it. Rodgers came in and exploited the Dallas defense who were obviously in deep coverage. Favre is very impatient.

I don't agree with that. That was one game Rodgers came in, and he didn't even win the game. Farve can be impatient, and gun sling it too much, but last year he showed a lot more control and poise, and his stats, and there season showed for it. With Farve there superbowl contenders, with Rodgers, not so much.

I agree.

Favre is one of the best. Ever.

I dont really think so.

They have a very good, young defense and the offense is good.

Rodgers didnt win the game, but he was more effective than Favre. Favre is a great QB, but I still think the Packers are going to be just as good with Rodgers.

Favre is one the best quarterbacks to play the game. As for Mr. Rogers despite them having a very talented team around I don't believe that Mr. Rogers will be winning too many games next season. As a matter of fact , it will be at all surprising if they struggle and also Green Bay management is not even sold on Rogers since a lot rumors of swirling that they are interested in signing the great Byron Leftwich.

them wanting to bring in a veteran has nothing to do with no trusting rodgers. every nfl team wants a veteran qb on their roster. Seattle didnt want to use seneca wallace as a wr until they could find a backup they liked does this mean they dont trust hasselbeck? no it doesnt, it means they want security and depth because this is the NFL, and in the NFL people get hurt.

True, but Leftwich is a sorry qb....

Titans brought back one of their own.. Kearse has returned, but I don't like it.

Look at Dallas.

They brought in Brad Johnson to backup Romo.

This day in age, its kinda of stupid to only have one capable QB on your roster. You need 1 starting QB, and one capable backup that can provide consistency to the team.

Without, your ****ed. I've said it numerous times, and I will always say it, you can win a Superbow', or atleast make the playoffs with a QB who limits mistakes, and can effectively run the offense. You dont need a Manning, Brady, or a Palmer to win. Just an effective QB. Dont get me wrong though, a great QB is a very good thing to have and he alone could bring you in the playoffs, but you dont need an superstar QB.

If Rodgers limits mistakes, they could easily make the playoffs again.

I agree with Smas, but it also has to do with circumstance.

Take the Panthers last year for example. Everybody was cheering the David Carr signing, as he was the capable backup. Well, guess what. Delhomme goes out for the year EARLY. Now Carr has to lead the team, all of the sudden the David Carr signing was one of the worst in franchise history. He was benched for Vinny Testeverde and Matt Moore, for God's sake.

Point is, so while it's good to have a experienced backup on your roster, just hope you don't need him.

well lets be fair here carr was experienced all right... at taking sacks and not much else. I will admit though I was drinking some of the Carr kool aid. I blamed houston and really thought he could be good elsewhere. Whoops, I was wrong.

Definitely.

I can see Wade Phillips saying, "Well, so what our franchise lost Romo for the season, dont worry, we have Brad Johnson and he won a Superbowl, even though it was 30 years ago".

I think your going to see alot more teams draft QB's in the 3rd, 4th round who have the talent but could never produce what they did in college. Just so they can bring up the player to atleast know that he is the fulltime backup and be ready for it.

Colt Brennan would be the perfect example. Somebody who can atleast run the offense and not throw INT's all the time, and hopefully konws he isnt the starter unless he does a Romo.
