Yeah,I'm seriously thinking that the NFL should adopt restricted rookie salaries.
The only reason why they picked him is because they couldn't offload their pick
Maybe Parcells should draft the highest-rated placekicker #1 overall and say, "Look chump, we're making you the #1 overall, so you're going to take this $850,000 salary and like it, or else you're going to get less money in round 4."
And then, now that he's secured his franchise PK, he can spend the $60 million in savings (Jamarcus' contract) on re-signing his stars and free agency for the next 5 years.
Plus, it'd be great bargaining leverage for the team drafting #1 overall in 2009.
*Note to everyone besides forum and smas: I'm kidding!

Prolly for a lot longer. If they turned down the Skins offer I dont see Chad being traded because I cant imagine someone steps up with a better offer.
Looks like today is the day that Alexander gets released. I see a Texans uniform in his future.

Yeah.....that would be awesome. Next year's pick starts to hold out for a 55 million dollar contract.
"Umm no son, last years first rounder got less than a million and you know how the NFL works....whatever happened last year in draft you add 5% more. Well, that equals to about $892,000 a year."
My idea would be that Parcells should wait till the very last minute and not select anybody. By the rules that means he goes back a pick. He can continue until the 9th pick or so which would equal to about 5 million dollars less and still get what he wanted. This will also make Chris Berman die from asphyxiation because he would be talking to much.
I wouldnt be surprised if a team in the next couple of years (if the NFL does not adopt restricted salaries for rookies) does the exact thing and it will send ripples through the draft boards because teams realize that they can get somebody who can make an impact for alot less.
If this happens the NFL Draft turns in a game of chicken and totally ****s up the amount of money football pundits get paid to make mock drafts that are always wrong.
Welcome to the new NFL. The NFL Draft is now the football version of musical chairs.

The Benglas Piss me off. I'd take that trade in a minute. Chad Johnson is a cancer, and Two Possible First Rounders for him is a deal you can't turn down.

Hmmm, I guess thats a good deal.I dont know about giving him that most amount of money in the NFL for a defensive player.
He's a really good player, but I dont think that good.
Well it's an excellent deal for the Chiefs and Allen. For the 'skins we'll just have to find out. srug

Now how that affects the labor union side of it, I have no earthly idea.

I like the way you think, man. With the amount of braintrust in the NFL team's financial offices, there's got to be dozens of ways to make a mockery out of the whole thing. Often, it's the only way to get systems to change. Now how that affects the labor union side of it, I have no earthly idea.
Man, they could just hire us and they'll be set. **** think tanks.
There's a labour union?
Yeah, Allen is a great player but all that for him.....he better give 15 sacks, 5 ff and 60 tackles every year and get double teamed (he would like that in a blue collar sort of way) all the time.

They're one of the softest unions in pro sports, as obvious by how convenient it is for teams to tear up player's contracts, while players (ala Chad Johnson) are sentenced to theirs.

Lol I wish we would trade CJ to a Bigger city like DC or New York. Lets see the writers there rip him apart. The big cry baby should grow a pair and play the game. Oh well I hope he drops passes and sulks in DC next year. I am sick of him personally.

The NFL and Matt Walsh have finally reached an agreement, and he will turn over any evidence he has against the Patriots so it can be reviewed. It will be interesting to see what happens now.
My friend I have to agree with you. I can't wait to see what if anything will happen..
