Just checked, highest paid defensive player in history.

I don't know, I think we have the potential to be a sick team next year. All depends on T-Jack though..... 🙁

Vikings made Berrian like the 4th highest paid WR and now Allen, what, the highest paid player in the NFL?

As long as Jared Allen doesn't take a drink he should be able to get double digit sacks again.

NFLPA

They're one of the softest unions in pro sports, as obvious by how convenient it is for teams to tear up player's contracts, while players (ala Chad Johnson) are sentenced to theirs.

Yeah, hopefully you caught the sarcasm?

Please tell me you did....

About the Pacman trade.. I dont know about it....I still think they should take a corner in the first.

But its a very very good possibility they trade down again this year. I'd give it 75 percent chance.

About the NFL thing and Matt Walsh.

That's one organization that shouldnt have any evidence considering they destroyed the tapes before anybody else got to see him.

I strong feeling the Cowboys are going to get their pick back because this Pacman story keeps getting shadier, and at such the wrong time too.

Of course they should take a corner in the first. So they can get Roy Williams the hell out of there and move Henry to safety.

well the pick for this year is gone. But if it all falls through they get the titans 4th rounder next year.

Move a guy who gets injured about 5 games a season and has never played safety?

Strong safety at that....yeah good move.

Anything is better than Roy Williams. He sucks! Safety is not a hard position to move to if you played corner. Henry is pretty good, he would be 10x the safety Roy Williams is. So yes, it would be a good move.

If you say so.

Williams cant cover but there is more to being a safety than coverage. Having a guy who puts fear into WR's going over the middle or a guy who can come up and be a big part of stopping the run is a big thing.

I agree but his other job as a safety is to actually cover the middle. Williams got burned way too many times last year. He's not nearly the player he used to be. Dallas definitely needs to start looking into getting someone younger.

well the other problem is he has Ken Hamlin playing next to him and you can call him a pro bowler all you want but Hamlin is nothing to shake a stick at.

I totally agree with that.

Coverage is more important for the safety position. Leave that hard hitting shit for the linebackers. Coming into the off season Dallas needed to fix a few things on defense. They gave up way too many 3rd down conversions, Jacques Reeves is gone, problem fixed. They needed a capable #2 corner that isn't always injured, they got Pacman, and they needed to stop giving up so many big passing plays, Roy Williams should be next. I believe they now have enough talent on defense to be one of the elite units in the league, but to get there it would involve replacing Horse Collar Williams.

He was perfectly fine when Woodson played beside. Actually, he was a beast when had Woodson to show him the ropes.

Also, he was decent in coverage too and had the knack to make a big play when needed and to sack QB's too.

When Woodson retired, he hasnt had anybody to help him out. He was drafted as a free safety in reality and was good at doing that.

He isnt the best out there, but he isnt the worst either. He gets alot of shit for every single passing play, but people dont realize that the CB's sometimes **** up too.

Right now, there isnt anybody to replace him with and the Cowboys do not have any money to spend on a high priced safety. Will they draft one, probalby but it will to replace Hamlin and not Williams.

He has the skills but something is just wrong. He isnt tackling like he used too. Using too much arm and he doesnt bring fear into players like he used too. It's a confidence problem. I still think he can turn it around very easily.

And your completly wrong. A hard hitting safety is very important for a defense. Look at Sean Taylor, Rodney Harrison, Darren Woodson, John Lynch, Bob Sanders, Troy Polumalu...all great hitters. Williams is one of the best, but right now he isnt. He can still be. I'd give him one more year to turn it around and then they can start trying to replace.

He's on the decline, it has nothing to do with who is playing beside him. This is in no way a confidence problem.

And those players you mentioned, they are good in coverage in addition to being hard hitters. Williams could be the hardest hitter in the league but to me he would be useless if tight ends and receivers are constantly burning him. I don't care about the big hit, a pass deflection or an interception is just as good or better. He is suppose to be the corners help, but he looks helpless out there and as a defensive back myself, it's a pain to watch him at times.

Not to mention he still doesn't understand that horse collar = bad. Constantly costing them 15 yards. Honestly, I don't know how you put up with this guy let alone defend him.

He isnt that bad.

You make him sound like he is some two bit player that was undrafted.
Your completly overreacting.

Granted, he is overhyped (before), and overrated but is far from being the worst SS out there.

He doesnt have the greatest cover skills, but alot of SS dont, but because he gets paid alot, they treat him like he has to be the best. The tackling though, is a confidence problem. I've watched him since a rookie and he's not playing with same aggressiveness that made him really good. He's 27 years old and it would be mistake to replace him with a rookie, or some high priced agent just for the sake of change. Im giving one more year to turn it around.

Who are you going to replace him with?

sean taylor couldnt cover anyone either, he still made a huge impact on the game.

Sean Taylor didn't get lost in coverage NEARLY as much as Williams. He was among the elites because he always put himself in position to make a play.
