Its not pretty but I do like our last pick getting a LS, we definitely had some issues there last year.

I agree for the most part. But the Redskins aren't really known for being shrewed with anything involving needs.

Mike Hart hasn't been drafted.....

Also the Redskins have Colt Brennan, so they are in good hands.

Edit**

OK he just got drafted by the Colts.

GB is gonn have a nice young QB situation with Rodgers, Brohm, and Flynn.

I like seattles last 2 picks as well getting justin forsett and the guy who some believe to be the #1 K in the draft Brandon Coutu. I am a bit shocked that we did not address out Oline at all.

Im happy with the first two picks, and that TE looks pretty good from what I read that he will contribute.

But no help at WR.

Ah well....

They still have a a great team.

How do I put this lightly? Do you, um, watch football? Zorn might rolling-pin him into a decent QB, but he's nothing but an iffy project right now. And havign watched a fair number of Hawaii games, I'm not impressed at all.

...

Anyway, many teams have crap QBs. Pretty much anyone who gets drafted starts at some point. So I'd be shocked if any of the QBs drafted didn't take some in-game snaps within the next few years. They'll all get their chance.

I know, I know, sarcasm does not translate well over the internet.

Gus Frerotte is in all likely hood going to be the QB if jackson gets hurt this season unless Booty has a phenomenal camp/pre-season.

It's funny though, I would never have thought Booty would have had a legitimate shot at being a starter in the NFL after the Stanford game. But after a strong showing in the Rose Bowl, it raised my confidence in him, and after being drafted by on the teams where he has a shot at being the starter, the tides have definitely turned.

I just don't know though, he doesn't make good decisions under pressure and he doesn't have a strong arm, but those things can be worked on, but if he hasn't improved in 5 years at SC, then I doubt he'll do it at the next level, any time soon at least.

A few random notes from the draft, most minor:

I've seen most every kick that Brandon Coutu's attempted, but I had no idea he was the #1 rated kicker in the draft. But now that I think about it, he made about every kick that I saw. The thing I like most about him is with those fiercly critical UGA fans, every kick he attempted was under immense pressure.

I know part of the "act" is conflict, but didn't it look like Chris Berman and Mel Kiper wanted to kill each other by the end of Day 1? I can't count the number of times Berman said, "I understand that, but-"...and then he'd change the subject when Mel wouldn't back down. I wonder if Berman requested to not be on the Day 2 coverage or if that was planned.

Also noting that KC stole Dorsey:
I know this may sound biased, but I really, truly believe that Mendenhall was the steal of the draft. He has Barry Foster size, and all egos aside, I wouldn't mind seeing Mendenhall as the 1st and 2nd down back and Fast (and fresh) Willie Parker as the 3rd down back. Now if the Steelers could ever learn how to properly execute a screen...

I saw that Flacco guy play in December for Delaware, and he looked horrible. I think the Ravens have another Kyle Boller on their hands. Other than that, I can't believe how they absolutely raped the Jags by giving up their top 10 pick!

You can definately tell that this is "the year" for the Panthers John Fox. Mortgaging a good part of the farm to get Otah. Things have to happen this year or Fox is gone. All I can say is, hope Delhomme doesn't go down. And speaking of their other 1st round pick, any time you draft a RB 2 times in 3 years in the first round, somebody screwed up.

Your not just being biased. I hate the Steelers and agree that Mendenhall was a steal. I dont think they had any plans on taking a RB there but how could they pass it up. I think they also did great getting a big WR in Sweed. The only thing I could believe is that Pitt didnt go after one of the bigger FB's I mean doesnt Schmitt really fit the pitt ideal?

And about Brennan Cerrato (the skins VP) openly said that he was drafted as a project for Zorn. This kid is not there to compete with Campbell (not in the near future anyway) They took a flyer on him (likely it was all Zorn that made that happen) and Zorn will work with him and maybe make a pro out of him, or maybe not but I think it was worth the pick in the 6th round for them to take a chance. Especially when they have a guy like Zorn who was an NFL QB and speciallizes on QB development.

Bruce Arians and Co. have all but phased the FB out of their game plan. Don't ask me why, I've been scratching my head on that one since last September.

Meanwhile seattle felt the need to carry 3 FB's!

I could see if we didnt have TJ Duckett and Schmitt was gonna be our short yardage guy with Kirtman being the primary backup FB. But as of now we have 3 RB's and 3 FB's and I have no clue what they plan to do with them.

I watched the NFL Network version of the draft.

I actually liked it better. That Mycroft guy was spot on with some of the trades.

I may have to check out that version next year. It seemed like every 2 minutes, I heard one of the following:

1) "So you're telling me Chad Johnson isn't worth a 2nd round pick?"
2) "So you're telling me Jeremy Shockey isn't worth a 2nd round pick?"
3) "So you're telling me Jason Taylor isn't worth a 2nd round pick?"
4) "BLEEP! Inactive activity on a glorious day!" (Reggie Bush commercial)

Yeah, they were barely any commercials and in the bottom screen it had the clock running to show how much time it was.

But there wasn't any talk about trades or anything.

I watched the ESPN for a bit but the NFL was far better.

And Mel Kiper is a douchebag. The only problem was that the NFL Network rarely talked bad about a player, or the pick. It was always a positive spin.

Like the Sam Baker trade and pick.

I'm not a Packers fan by any means, but I really like them drafting Brian Brohm. There's a lot of potential there.

I was happy with how my Cowboys drafted. I would have liked for them to get Mendenhall but Felix Jones is probably a better compliment for Barber.

Jenkins should add more to what was once a very weak point in the defense. We now have Newman, Henry, Jenkins, and Pacman if he gets reinstated.

Jones is a good pick ONLY if they lock up Barber otherwise they will be wishing they got Mendenhall.

interesting Titans draft. I'm taking a wait and see approach... Watched both NFL Network and ESPN at the same time. Mike Mayock is a pretty analyst. Mel Kiper, jr is well Mel Kiper, jr.
