Must be that time of year for Marty's biggest fan to emerge.

And BTW, it was decided here that "Kansas City Clowns" doesn't make the least bit of sense. Cleveland, if anything, owns more right to be called the "Clowns" by virtue of a rhyming nickname as well as their performance on the field, which has been as bad if not worse than Kansas City's.

KC played really well for bad team this year. They are extremely young full of guys most of us have not heard of. They were literally 1 play away from winning a lot of the games they lost.

Just in though that Herm is fired and mike shanahan is supposedly coming in.

If one of the KC guys caught the onside kick, the Chargers would not be in the SB, and we could of had a Steelers-Colts matchup.

I know there are only a handful of "stories" this Super Bowl week, but one is the talk of Larry Fitzgerald vaulting past elite status into potentially legendary status if he has a big game. The Minnesota native and Pitt "alumni" is unquestionable one of the top receivers in the game, if not the best.

And this Sunday will be a good gauge, because if he has an explosive game, he will definitely earn whatever titles anyone wants to bestow upon him, because here's how these other "elite" receivers fared this year against CB Ike Taylor:

Andre Johnson 10 rec, 112 yrds, 0 TD (52 of those yards after it was 35-3)
Braylon Edwards 3 rec, 32 yds, 0 TD
Chad Johnson 8 rec, 52 yds, 1 TD
Plaxico Burress 3 rec, 15 yds, 0 TD
Santana Moss 2 rec, 14 yds, 0 TD
Reggie Wayne 6 rec, 114 yds, 1 TD (Butterfingers Ike tipped easy INT to Wayne for 65 yd score...but he still allowed it, though)
TJ Houschmanzadeh 4 rec, 20 yds, 0 TD
Randy Moss 4 rec, 45 yds, 0 TD
Terrell Owens 3 rec, 32 yds, 1 TD
Braylon Edwards 1 rec, 5 yds, 0 TD
Vincent Jackson 2 rec, 49 yds, 1 TD

I think he is top WR right now just because he has been awesome in the playoffs.

But I heard he was single covered alot of those times? I know it doesnt really mean alot, but alot of those WR's get double covered.

Right now, Andre Johnson and Fitz are the best with Moss, Wayne, Steve Smith coming up behind.

Yea Fitz is amazing but its hard for me to say hes the best. Moss is probably still the best when he wants to be. All season long I was thinking damn andre johnson needs more attention because he is phenomenal, Wayne has some of the most incredible body control I have ever seen but think he lacks some of the ability of the other guys. Smith is right there with Wayne.

I would prolly say:

Moss, Fitz, A. Johnson, Smith, Boldin as my top 5. Calvin Johnson will prolly need to jump in there soon enough

I think I would rather have Wayne than most WR's. He always produces but does in a very quiet way.

One of the best route runners in my opinion and will probably be the next Hines Ward, but with a bit more talent.

Yea Wayne would be hard to turn away but he just doesnt have that added ability to just throw it up and let them jump for it that Johnson and Fitz have.

True. He doesn't. He does make some nice catches.

He did have a off year this year.

What are you biitches talkin about? You should all be questioning each other about how many players the Steelers organization will be able to keep after winning the Superbowel this year.

Because I don't really care?

And I assume most of them will stay considering alot of the Steelers good players are pretty young.

Maybe we should talk about how a team with a so-so offensive line got there?

I'd say the top receiver in the league is Andre Johnson. No matter who the QB is, he still puts up very nice numbers. I'd place Fitzgerald in second.

AJ is a great one

That's true.

Because they're gelling now, turning them from a pitiful offensive line to an average offensive line. Pittsburgh has enough talent offensively to work with an average offensive line. Here's a few details:

LT: Max Starks is a monumental upgrade over Marvel Smith with a bad back and is actually moving quite well considering he was a turnstile at RT

LG: Chris Kemeoutu does a good job controlling his temper and though he's good for about 1 penalty per game, he no longer looks clueless out there.

C:Justin Hartwig is Mike Webster compared to the dingleberry playing last year, Sean Mahan. Keeping D-linemen out of the middle makes all the difference in the world.

RG: Darnell Stapleton is a bit undersized but is very bright and doesn't miss many assignments. I hate to say this, but I was actually glad (for the team) when Kendall Simmons went out for the year and it gave Stapleton a chance.

RT: Willie Colon blows (pun intended). Basically, he's Mr. False Start and he has bricks for feet. Notice how on pass plays, they just let Colon go all the way back and let the RB or TE pick up any DE that's going to cut inside. This minimizes the DE getting around the RT and reduces the number of Big Ben clobberings by about 50% per game.

TE: Though he's no Mark Bruener, Heath Miller actually has decent blocking ability. I don't care for Block-Whiffers like Dallas Clark who are just WR's with a few extra pounds. Just to amuse myself, during the IND/JAX game this past December, I watched Dallas Clark on about 20 straight plays. He whiffed on ALL SIX of his run blocks, and they ran every play away from him. Frankly I'm surprised the Colts gave him blocking assignments that many times. Sure he had a career receiving game, but for the Colts to use him as a decoy was absurd because even I wasn't buying it.

Back to the Steelers...I also think Mike Tomlin b!tch-slapped Bruce Arians around a bit in December because the play-calling has improved 1,000% over the past month.

Fitz is number 1, and this is why:

There should be more players like him.

Well thank you. Tell you truth, I really havn't watched any Steelers game this year.

I'll say one thing, I also like blocking TE's and thats why I think Witten is the best in the league right now. Pretty good blocker, and well, he make plays.

I usually don't say that a team will be the winner automatically, I just cant think how Arizona will win....

^^Agreed. I can't see how the Giants will win, the Pats are undefeated!

Oh! Wrong Super Bowl.

It is different, while no one thought the Giants would win I think people could see how it could be possible. THe last game of the season gave people an idea the Giants could hold their own.

Honestly I think the Steelers should be a bigger favorite than the Pats were.

As good as he is, he also knows he is much better with Boldin on the field with him. Very classy move though. Elway took league minimum to win another title.

Also, the Giants had a great defense and defense wins championships.

Steelers have one of the best in the past 5-10 years, Arizona does not.

I don't really know. If the Cards are going to win it, Warner will have the amazing.
