Ok, this isn't really that big of a deal, just a FYI that I thought of a few days ago.

You know how sometimes at the beginning of a telecast, the announcers make statements like, "Tampa Bay hasn't played a regular season game at Denver since 1993" or "The last five meetings between the Bears and the Dolphins have been in Miami, dating back to 1987"

Well, the 2009 season is the last year that any such scheduling anomaly statements can be made. Yes, it is the eighth year of Divisional Realignment.

Because of the formula, for example, every four years an AFC North team WILL play at two NFC North teams and host the remaining two NFC North teams. And four years after that, the AFC North team will host the two NFC North teams it visited four years prior and play at the other two NFC North teams. Because of this formula, it is impossible for an AFC team not to visit or host every single NFC team within an eight-year period. So you'd better enjoy the statements this year, because they won't exist in 2010.

Just my useless trivia fact of the week. And yes, I came up with it all by myself. 😛

That's pretty damn sweet hahahaha.

I've been reading some info on the Cowboy's mini camp and it dawned on me for the hundredth time that the NFL is a "what have you done for me lately" league.

For example, Dallas was a sure bet according to journalists to make the playoffs and possibly the Superbowl. This year, 3rd place in the division and won't make the playoffs. Why?

They have the same team from last year except without Owens, Roy Williams, Anthony Henry, Chris Canty and Adam Jones.
Owens was replaced by Roy Williams. Roy Williams (jesus christ, why cant one change his name) was replaced by a better cover safety. Henry was getting old. Chris Canty didn't live up to expectations and was replaced by that guy.....Olgoagdadgagsky and Jones did shit all.

I don't get it.

Anyone else think that showing off that fake punt from the Titans may have been too early?

That play looked like a gimme touchdown that could've worked fun in regular season.

Nah. It was one of the greatest preseason touchdowns I'd ever seen, but Fisher is too conservative to use that when it counts.

That being said, watch him bust out a field goal double reverse flea flicker September 10th. 😱

nah, in fact i wanted to see vince young tell us how great he is, shame he didn't

the fake behind the back handoff from Punter to Safety is a fumble going for 6 the other way waiting to happen.

**** I wish I saw it....oh well.

Honestly the only reason it worked is the rules and how they baby punters/kickers so much. Guys are so scared to actually hit the punter which allowed him to get away with this. If the guys just came in and drilled him the play would have never happened.

Probably.

It did look pretty damn cool.

Vince was pretty disappointing, he is gonna live up to what he said he is gonna have to make better reads than that.

Regardless of the rules, you gotta have balls of steel to try that in the regular season on 4th and 10. Which is why Fisher won't. Or any other coach, for that matter.

Well, maybe some young coach would.

Yeah, it's a dangerous play. If he had done the behind-the-back reverse, the runner would have been drilled because the tackler was avoiding the punter and shied off to the punter's right.

And you can see that there was some bobble on the punter's Harlem Globetrotter manuveur. Unless he's got Shaq hands, it's impossible to guarantee a firm grip while performing the motions associated with that fake.

Anyways, it was pretty ****ing cool and I'm definitely picking him up in fantasy.

Good luck finding a spot on your roster for a Punter, and for a backup one at that lol.

Nah, he's labeled as a RB.

Years ago, a kicker for the Cowboys during their shitty years ran in a fake kick handoff. I assume that its counted in fantasy.

That gives me an idea. Since the Raiders have completely stopped taking football seriously, why not turn Janikowski into Jerome Bettis and have him run off tackle on 3rd and goal? He'd be guaranteed first Kicker selected in Fantasy Football drafts worldwide.

A.J. Trapasso hes a punter not a RB. It would score the same as a RB would because it is a rushing play, but you couldnt have a punter on your roster. If a kicker did it who you happened to have starting it would count.

Please tell you knew I was joking....please tell me....or I have lost faith.

I like Bot's idea. The Cowboys have a kickoff specialist who is suppose to be some human freak of person and is going to be on the team as the second kicker and as a special teams player.

I thought, you thought, that maybe it was a direct snap to a special team RB or something.
