It would be easy to say things would be different if the Steelers had:
1) Made just 1 of 2 FG's against the Bears
2) Stopped Leonard on 4th down vs. the Bengals I
3) Not allowed a Kickoff return TD vs. the Bengals II
4) Not taken themselves out of FG range in OT vs. the Chiefs
5) Stopped the 4th down play late in regulation and catch an INT vs. the Ravens
6) Not dropped the easy INT late in the 4th vs. the Raiders

...but that would be a PATHETIC argument. Ifs, shoulda's, woulda's, & coulda's are for loser fans who can't accept responsibility for their team's failures to WIN GAMES. Outcomes happen for a reason, and it has NOTHING to do with "outplaying" the opponent. The Steelers deserve to miss the playoffs this year. They are making ZERO big plays when the game is on the line. This team has absolutely no killer instinct and deserves the 7-9 season it's going to finish up with. This team consistently made big plays in the 4th quarter last year and rode this big play defense to the Super Bowl. Polamalu would have helped, sure, but he can't cover everyone except James Harrison and Lamarr Woodley's asses on every play.

On a related note, I'd be more pissed if my wife wasn't due to give birth to our first kid a week from Wednesday. I've definitely put these losses behind me easier knowing that. And FYI everyone, her name is going to be Troyeta Roethlisbella. Just kidding, it's going to be Rachel.

This was worded incorrectly, unless that particular fan is a part of the coaching staff or suiting up.
The words "responsiblity for" should not have been included. I think you all know what I meant anyway.

Yeah 23-13

Congrats dude.

But I thought you were like 55 years old or something.

I'm glad Pittsburgh might not make the playoffs. That city is doing well in terms of major championships, lucky ****ers.

Yeah, I'll only be 72 when she's a senior in high school.

Actually, I just turned 34. So yeah, I'm going to be like 50 when she graduates from high school, but I think it's for the best. I couldn't imagine having a teenage daughter any time soon.

From my man shower, I was already given three Steeler "onesies" and a Troy Polamalu bib. Also a Georgia Tech onesie.

Congrats to you, too. That's a good name. Fortunately I don't have to worry about my infant daughter's ear drums getting blown out as I watch the Steelers in the playoffs this year....because they won't be there.

Hahaha.

What?

Tomlin won't be bringing hell the next couple of weeks?

He's already brought hell...to the faithful Black and Gold fans. Trust me, any time you lose to the Raiders, it's hell.

Hahaha.

I just saw an article about the Pats and Cowboys and how they are in trouble.

I can understand the Pats. They've lost three in a row.

But the Cowboys?

I know they lost once. I'm starting to hate sports writing. There's a reason why the only writer I like to read nowadays is Bill Simmons. At least he stays true to what he believes. I hate how writers now go, A: the team won last game - they're coming back.
B: they lost to a division rival - they suck and are in trouble.
C: they win next week - December curse is broken.
D: they lose two weeks later - December curse is back.

I understand if the team loses to crappy division rival (aka the Lions or something like that) but when they lose to a decent team (aka the Giants) it just tends to happen every year. I'm not a NFL expert but I know that most division games are close minded affairs and do not represent if the team that loses/wins are shit/best.

It's getting really annoying.

Yeah, I hear ya and it goes for more than just sports writers. Granted the loss wasn't to a division rival, but I was talking to four co-workers today about who is going to be in the Super Bowl, and not a single one of them mentioned Minnesota. Funny that one picked the Giants, who were in "trouble" last week themselves.

I picked Minnesota, though, and against New England (another team that lost and is in "trouble"😉.

All I know is I am savoring this Bengals year. Who knows what team shows up next year...lol

As for Steelers, I still see a good team, but I also see a divided team. I dont know exactly what happened, maybe the Hines Ward Comments divided the team, but they just are not playing as a unit this year imo. This is where Tomlin needs to step up and reclaim his team.

I think the Vikings could easily beat the Saints and probably will but I also see Favre not keeping up his torrid streak he is on.

As for the Pats, I don't think they will. Their defense is not very good and I don't think the offense can keep them afloat all the time.

As for the Colts, I'm iffy on them. Too many secondary injuries in my opinion. But then again, if they have the lead in the 4th quarter, or need a TD to win/tie, Manning will probably get it done. It's strange to think that Manning is probably the most clutch QB right now when a couple of years ago everybody thought he was just a stats QB.

They are in trouble because they're in danger of missing the playoffs. Cowboys have the Eagles, Saints and Chargers on their schedule, not to mention a Redskins team that nearly beat them a couple of weeks ago. That could easily be 3 losses right there. Which would probably knock you out of the playoffs.

It wasn't just about the Cowboys but the entire NFL. I used the Cowboys as an example.

The Colts won't. They Denver and Jacksonville.

The Broncos aren't going to beat the Colts at home.

You mean 3 of the last 4? They beat the Jets a couple weeks ago.

Whatever. You understand the gist of it.

uhuh

What the ****?

The Browns beat the Steelers?

Hey Bot, now you know how a Cowboys fan feels.

Gotta say watching the Steelers lose to the Raiders and then the Browns back to back felt good.
