I don't like Tae Kwon Do, or Karate for that matter.

im not a fan either, but both are great for balance as i said before.

Those diciplines are good character builder for kids and you can incorporate some of the techniques in actual combat. But 7/10 you will get your ass handed to you if break most of that stuff out in the streets.

Showed up for another amateur fight last night, but I couldn't get a match-up for some reason or another. It sucks... I've been training my butt off.

Sorry about that. Was it just an open fight where you can just show up and get an opponent or did you have an opponent who didn't show?

There are some decent karate schools around, but I do agree for the most part. 95% of karate is unfortunately BS.

Yo, in all of your opinions, what is the best martial art? If you don't think there is a best, just list a few.

I usually look at this in "tiers".

Striking: Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing

Clinch: Judo, Muay Thai, Greco Roman wrestling

Grappling(ground): Brazilian Juijutsu, Judo, Freestyle/Folkstyle Wrestling.

Obviously, there are other styles that have been put to good use. However, combat sports are disproportionately dominated by these "Top Tier" styles.

He showed, and then backed out for some reason. It happens, so oh well.

He showed, and then backed out for some reason. It happens, so oh well. Took some time off, but i'm back in it now. Going to do a modified muay thai fight in Dec. I'm going to do NAGA in March, but that's a ways off.

Kickboxing/MMA/grappling

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
I was in Hung Gar Kung Fu for about 6 years got bored of it and now after while of not being in a School, Gym like KB or whatever.....I am thinking of Muay Thai/Tai Kick and maybe BJJ.

I actually remember seeing something about you doing this a while back. How long have you been training?

Sambo doesn't actually work unless you're Russian.

Also, I tried to keep each grouping limited to 3. I was actually going to do an honorable mention list with karate, sambo, and PURO-RESURINGU!

Just saw your profile. Legit camp. Good stuff.

Oh cool a Martial Arts topic 😄

I love Martial Arts, I've been in it for a LONG time.

I'm a 2nd Degree in Taekwondo, I take jujitsu, Boxing, and I took wushu for a couple years.
