Good compression or not, quality will still be lost due to the laws of compression. They'll just try to make it unnoticeable, which they will, unless we have microscopic lenses (for PS3 fans it will be fanboy goggles though). 😆
They're aiming for 3 discs, we don't know yet. If it's 4, it can still fit in a normal DVD case. Two flaps, a disc on each side. Personally I'd like four. Another disc with different art design ftw.
The only thing I don't like about DVD's are they are scratchable (at least way more easily then Blu-ray) like CD's, and if one disc is damaged...there goes your whole copy of FFXIII. Mwaha! 😈
...Probably will not buy a PS3 for uncompression and a good quality disc, but if Versus XIII stays exclusive................whole nother story manez.
Although I've known this for a veeery long time, and it hasn't registered until now...the player will be playing as a female in XIII, just like in FFX-2. That is the main character...and I doubt you can choose to play as someone different, like Dante instead of Nero in DMC4 for example.
Mother effer. I don't know why, but I really prefer playing as a male person in a game. I love females (obviously, posts say it all...) but playing as them in a video game, feels like being in their shoes which feels impossible, especially someone like Lightning who isn't that emotionally tough in my opinion (seen all the cutscenes-in-trailers). I need to play as the cool gansta guy with blonde hair and a hat in XIII (kinda looks like Kingdom Hearts Seifer and the white gangsta dude from The World Ends With You - DS game which I'm not even interested enough to buy...and this is made by Square as well)...so yeah I wish I could play as that guy, or another male. Afro man, forget it. Maybe after getting a good buzz cut I may pick him up. Alas, I think you can only play as Lightning in this game, which frankly sucks because I've went an entire week playing as a character who has an annoyingly girly run throughout the whole world of Spira (Yuna) and I's (I + was) just staring not realizing much that I'm playing a game...but looking at ultra-mild porn or something. haermm
At least I think Versus XIII will play as that cool guy with emo blue hair, the guy who kicked ass in that Versus XIII trailer...and he would own Cloud Strife and Zack Fair! 😠
...oh my gawd I made another lolzy word quilt didn't I?

I don't see what's the big deal about playing as a female. Good news for you though: you can control another character if you wish. That means you can move around as Snow Villiers.
Never. Any FF title is welcome....actually ignore.
@ Sin: From the beginning?? Or just at one point kind of like how you have to control Riku at one point in KH2 (last fight with Xemnas) in other words can I play as the gangsta dude from the very beginning? All throughout? Or do I have to beat the game first with Lightning or something to use him? Thanks a bunch. In fact I just spoke to an old friend today during work and he pretty much agrees with me - playing as female characters feels awkward for the most part. He does play with Christie in Tekken though, despite this. It's because to me females (in VG's) should be eye candy and/or someone I'm teamed up with, not someone I'm playing as or controlling.

Oh boy, an entire two FF games out of however many have come out over the years where you play as a female character. The world is ending.Personally, I'm glad the main character's a girl. Easier to relate to and get into the story.
Ha! Says who? 😛
I wouldn't mind it all that much(if at all), if I liked FF in the first place.
Originally posted by PeachNever meant it that way. @ all it's just that I prefer playing as a male character, seeing as I'm a male character myself. zomgrlywtfehfjnf1!!!!!!111 😐 😬

This last statement (starting with "personally"😉 pretty much sums up my post, or what I was trying to say, anyway.
And what's up with someone saying "I supposed all girls who prefer playing as girls can go F themselves" how did anything I say even come close to this fabricated statement?
The last sentence was not sexist. It's more of a proof that I'm straight + feel like I'm in the main character's shoes (so it would feel more appropriate for me to play as a male, seeing as I'm a male, duhrr..rrr) if anything. Lol @ internet misinterpretation.
Lolzy even more at the idea of Versus XIII getting canceled. It's part of the Fabula Nova Crystalisysysiysiysis project. To cancel that is like canceling Birth By Sleep before it's release in Japan and North America when it's part of and essential to the Kingdom Hearts series - R3TARDED. Possible, but r3tarded, with a 3! 😠
lemme break it down to ya'll
By saying to me vg girls should be eye candy, it's saying to me a girl (that chances are, is blazingly hot, and these days would look rather realistic) is attractive to look at. What blame should be put on me here. Is being neutral or a queer necessarily better? To each his or her own.
Wanting to team up with one is sexist? Oh yes, makes a lot of sense especially if I were to say I'd rather team up with a male character in a mission, it would make me not sexist (actually that would sound like I prefer hanging around guys which imo sounds a little messed up) preferring to play WITH females = sexist against females? As I said, lolzy.

One of which is arguably the best in the entire series, and in my opinion, is.
