Speaking of XII, I personally found Gabranth and Dr.Cid to be the best characters.

Try final fantasy 13 2 it waaay better than 1! And just so you know the red chocobo is the most powerful monster in the game. It makes the chain gauge last a loooooong time with extra attack power over every other monster and stagger maintenance 2. That just makes the chain gauge much longer!
