SSBB should have a very diverse cast of playable characters. As of now, there are 3 characters confirmed from the Mushroom Kingdom: Mario, Peach, and Bowser. I'm pretty sure that Luigi is going to be confirmed, which would make a total of four characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. In my opinion, there shouldn't be more than four people from the same universe. If Daisy were to be in a SSB-related game, she should have been in SSBM so that she would be a clone of Peach instead of just being an alternate outfit.

I didn't forget anybody. I already knew that Yoshi and Wario were part of the Mario franchise. It's just that they have their own little "spin-off" series of video games. Also, they aren't represented by the mushroom symbol in the Super Smash Brothers trilogy. Come to think of it, isn't Donkey Kong part of the Mario franchise since he appears in the racing and sports games?

A spin-off of a Mario game is still a Mario game. By that logic Peach and Luigi wouldn't be considered Mario characters because they each had their own game (Luigi's Mansion and Super Princess Peach). And if anything Mario would be considered a DK character since Mario appeared first in Donkey Kong as Jumpman.

Umm no; Yoshi and Wario are Mario characters. Born Mario characters, die Mario characters. Fact is the only reason you say otherwise is because the game developers (who really have nothing to do with Miyamoto or any other games made by Nintendo expect for Kirby) decided to give them a different symbol.
Even though basically every single "Yoshi" game (expect for maybe one) has Mario (or Baby Mario) as part of the main story or has Yoshi battling Bowser.
They are called MARIO SPIN-OFF GAMES so they are still considered to be a MARIO character. Mario still uses Yoshi (Mario Sunshine) thus meaning that Yoshi has appeared in newer Mario games (even in Mario 64 DS alongside WARIO).
I would like to see Midna. She could be a more powerful version of Zelda with strength similar to ganon. She could transform into her imp form and use her hair and force field attacks from twilight princess and her final smash could be the fused shadow beast she transforms into using her lance for the attack.
And again, Mike Jones. Imagine him as a little similar to Ness. He can attack with his katana from Zoda's Revenge. He can have similar smashes to ness, utilizing the yo-yo style super nova and baseball bat from star tropics. and in terms of smashes, he can use his psychic shockwave, and use the cleats from star tropics as his final smash.
