My 2-year-old computer can handle everything but the recommended graphics card requirements... and look at the game. It's obvious you do not play Bioshock with only minimum requirements. *grumbles*
Funny thing, you can pay 400$ for a console to play it or buy a FXF Geforce 8800 640MB GTX video card for 375$ and play all your favorite games on computer, with most of them that have much better graphics than on the consoles. And don't give me none of that 'But soon my graphics card will not be enough to play new games and I'm going to have to buy one AGAIN'
Wrong. If you buy an endline video card for 400$ right now than you won't be replacing it in anywhere in the next 6 years. Oh wait... It takes 6 years for the next consle in the series to come out. So there's no freaken point.

Same here, I have a Geforce 6600 right now. Although just yesterday I ordered a Geforce 8800 and it's going to arrive in a few days, so I'm not going to worry about that.

As oppoesed to constantly updating their comp? lol
The card I bought with the computer originally was $120, and served me very, very well for 2 years. And it was a slightly outdated card even then. So it's not "constantly updating" unless you're obsessed with changing your card every month when a new one comes out. If I buy a GeForce 8600 now, it will almost certainly hold me for the next 3 years, or until the next console cycle. And at the price I've found it at... that's $250 for 5 years of great-looking gaming. So that, or $400 to play the same game on a console?

Mine is a 7300. Need to do some funds moving, but unless I find a compelling reason not to I'll be buying an 8600 in a couple days.

I saw the PC version of Bioshock at the Gamestop I work for, the collectors edition has a nice replica of Big Daddy inside, I wanted to buy it but I'd never be able to run the thing on my pc. Looks nice though.

The funny thing, if my computer can run it and I'm going to download the PC demo and if it works than I will get the PC version because I rather have good graphics and wicked sound (I have 5.1 Surround sounc with good speakers) than the 360 version with great graphics but lousy sound.
And I always find that a game means more to me, and I get more out of it when I play the PC version of the game than the console version when it comes to shooters. Maybe its the control scheme, or just the proximity of the screen to where I sit. It's really wierd but I just do.
Spidervlad, there is no way you can buy an PC and expect it to last 6 years before upgrading....no way in hell. I got my computer 3-4 years ago and I have trouble playing PC games on medium settings and I already upgraded my vid card. Nowadays, CPU are becoming more important and next year, you probalbly need an dual core processor to get anything from a game.
Meh, I'm going to give the PC demo a try to see if my computer can handle the game to a point, if not, then I might get the 360 copy.
I'm not seeing getting a copy the most difficult thing to do so I didnt preorder. Theres a strip mall where there is an EB, Best Buy and Future Shop.
I used to get the collectors editions of the game but I personally think its an waste of money. I got the HL2 collectors and all I got was a bloody T-Shirt. I just want the game.
My only problem is that sometimes the shipments dont come until alot later like 2pm, and I already went to store thinking it was going to be there.
Then of course when I ask, the employees go, "well like every game that gets released, we never get on the release date."......bastards....but of course, Madden always hits the mark and is there before the store opens.

The regular edition will be easy to get, stores like Best Buy, Target, Walmart etc will get tons of copies. Ironically it's only specialty stores like gamestop that may run out of copies. Also, Circuit City is having a deal on the game. $49.99 on Tuesday.
Stores like Target and Best Buy actually don't get any more copies than stores like Gamestop do 😛 Just the number of copies we get relies on the number of orders.

That's because the date that most people think is the release date is actually the ship date. It's only street-dated games that usually get shipped before they're set to be release.

Stores already have Bioshock in the back. They just can't sell them yet.
