Won't need to b/c Yoshi will more than likely (I'd bet on it) be in this game and he'll get the game.
Although I don't see what bit of difference Yoshi being in this game or not should have on deciding to get this game, being that based on what we've seen so far, the gameplay hardly focuses on Yoshi.
Would a cameo satisfy this person?

Ok this is large spoiler, but not of the story kind. It wont ruin the game at all for you, it only makes you want to play it more IMO. Nevertheless it is still a spoiler.

Luigi is playable in the game if you get all 120 Stars. At which point you can replay through the game with Luigi who jumps higher and longer but has much less traction on his feet, so he slides around more then Mario. Apparently this makes the game harder all around and so getting Luigi acts not only as a cool unlockable but also as a "hard mode" of sorts
