Another Mario game wont be coming out for atleast 4 years. We really dont have to worry about it.

I bet that was the same thing you said after playing Super Mario Sunshine.
I hope he did/would. Such statements about video games like his should be repeated. Seriously. If someone spend hard earned money on a game, it damn well be the best game ever until another comes about. I've done that with all my games. Each one is a winner.

It seems that no sequel Carry's on from the previous game, even the time of the 8 bit and 16 bit, the sequels never follow on from the last.
Mario has went through the entire galaxy. It would seem wierd if they just reverted back to a certain land area like with Mario Sunshine. But I doubt a sequel will come out for a couple of years so Nintendo has plenty of time to think about it.
On the other hand they need to start work on an actual Zelda Wii game and not just some Gamecube port.
There wont be another proper Mario game for a long time. I'd be surprised if there was another on Wii. But who really cares? I don't know about you guys but Galaxy is by far my Game of the Year, by a mile, nothing is even close. I don't need another Mario as I'll be playing this one through like a zillion times over for the next god knows how many years.
