Actually, Naga channeled the power through the ship, the comics say as much. So, yeah, what was that about him 'blowing up a star' when we see his ship blasting the thing? And, wait, we see Luke's foremer student Brakiss manipulating solar flares with the hints he could blow up the sun if he tried.
