Not necessarily. If all guns (hypothetically speaking) disappeared off the face of the earth, criminals would turn to knives, clubs, mallets, swords, etc.

Maybe...but less...and those turn otu less serious as well....

Maybe in a futuristic society we will all have laser beams to use. Until then, no government will be supreme over its people, or should be.

I'm not sure about that. I've witnessed hand to hand fights before, I've even been involved in plenty of fights myself. They can get pretty brutal sometimes. Where as with a gun, all it usually takes is one shot in a specific place to kill someone. Not much suffering there. Well, except with a 22.
