It doesn't look idiotic, IMHO, but it might be too much of a departure. I'm not sure how humans would feasibly stand against Lycans or vampires other than by virtue of sheer numbers. Since the war seems to not be spilling out into the streets, though, one can assume that these human paramilitary forces are fairly limited.

As far as ruining the series goes, Lucian defeating Viktor did that.

When did Lucien defeat Viktor? And the series was badass up until this trailer.

Did you not see Rise of the Lycans? They fight toe-to-toe at the end and Lucian overcomes Viktor, stabs him through the mouth, and drops him into a lake.

Because the entire premise of the first film was that Lucian needed Michael's blood to become a Hybrid in order to defeat Viktor.

Well, considering the half dozen action packed kills we saw in that trailer, I'd imagine the only thing left is some kind of hidden antagonist who's probably manipulating the humans. So unknown lost Corvinus brother, someone totally new, etc. Or evil scientist injects himself with Selena's super blood and gets juiced.

Amen. The Lycans overcoming the stronghold I can commend, but the defeat of Viktor ruins the premise of the first movie and undermines his strength.

And considering the amount of time both of us have put into this debate, I think it's perfectly okay at this point if we both want to get it over with it ASAP and hear the verdict.

Also, I agree with this. Quanchi's debating has become repetitious, and the obvious contrast between Vos' literate, well informed style and Quanchi's lower caps feat wars is enough to make Gandhi drop kick a baby.
