The last movie is good solely for Alan Rickman. I enjoyed the books immensely, but the movies suck. Average movies, just in and of themselves. Very poor adaptions.

All of the movies I've seen suck, which is up to 6. I'm not planning on watching the last 2.

Christopher Nolan directed it.

Well now I'm just depressed.

The 3rd movie was the best one, imo.

I was kidding about Nolan; I was hoping that would inspire you to go see it. mmm

Fiennes was too erratic and silly for me. Making his eyes human instead of red cat-slits was horrible. His voice is retarded sounding--did you hear that laugh of his, "Nyaaa-heh-heh!". And that Avada Kedavra that was half a yawn... And his openly performing in front of a crowd was too much. Couldn't take him seriously as a monstrous villain.

If only they had found someone more like that guy who played 16 year-old Riddle in Chamber of Secrets.

Fiennes definitely overdid at points.

But I thought his murder of Snape was horrific, as was his slaughter of the Gringotts security team, and I really enjoyed the film-based notion that Voldemort could sense the destruction of his final Horcruxes, adding a level of human desperation and fear that we don't really see in the book.

The kid in Half Blood Prince was much creepier.

Actually, I do remember that guy acting the pants off that one. He completely upstaged the entire movie. IIRC so did the Riddle in Half Blood Prince. You could tell they were proper actors at least coughRadcliffcough.

OMG spoilers!

No really, I'm just kidding.

...Oh, well what about how Voldemort turns out to be James Potter in a mask? 😐

That explains the self-hate.

....Mine? Is it, like, showing? 😮

Yay, new CW3D season 4 trailer!

Nolan wouldn't direct such trash for all the money in the world. His name isn't George Lucas.

facepalm

George Lucas didn't direct it either. 😬

The kid who played 11 year-old Riddle was good, but not the replacement actor they got for teenage Riddle. Christian Coulson, was his name. He's 32 now, so I get why they replaced him, but I just didn't like Frank Dilane's portrayal in HBP. He felt like he was acting creepy instead of just being creepy, like Coulson pulled off.

And yeah, Snape's death and the Gringotts massacres were good Voldemort scenes. Probably because you don't actually see much of him on them. And his feeling the Horcrux destruction was a nice touch, though I maintain that his psychotic behaviour ruins him. I know he IS a psycho! But part of what made his book self so terrifying was that you didn't really get to see (read about seeing) Voldemort as much as the film. Watching him randomly kill that guy who asked him if he was alright just irked me for some reason. He wasn't the cold, detached monster, he was just an angry killer. Kinda ruined him.

For Neph, in case you haven't seen the clips:
"Avada Kedavra"
And "Nyaa-heh-heh!"

I already posted it. Ironically, Topless Robot pointed it out to me.

Edit: Wait, were those actual scenes from teh movie? Yep, definately not watching it now.

Voldemort definitely works better when he's not in every scene.

I think you should try reading my post again carefully, to understand the George Lucas reference. Swing and a miss Gideon.

I kinda wish they wouldn't re-do the old clone wars cartoon battle. It looks fine though. I'd be up for watching it but I don't want to wade through crappy earlier seasons. Should I skip the first few (or one?)?

Season two was probably the best. Season three's second half was awesome, especially the Dooku-centric episodes.

Spoiler:
Yeah, I understood the reference. You apparently didn't understand the turn around there.

No, I did not understand the turn around there, unless it was nothing more than a "no u" rebuttal.
