The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

ManShep <3 Miranda is fun, and Manshep <3< Jack is almost mandatory, while Manshep c3< [Tali<3<Legion] is interesting in a vaguely world-buildingly way, though not on its own merits.

I am unequivocally in favor of EDI <> Joker.

That game is so old. Man, you guys are lame.

ME3 comes out in March.

So fuck you.

Guys, Guys! There exists a well-written crossover between Harry Potter and Avatar! Harry is on Pandora and alternatively kicks ass and has his ass kicked by a series of events that prompts personal growth based on both internal and external struggle!

All Fanfiction without sloppy lesbian makeouts is laem Zam.

Also, whats your take on the Quarian/Geth situation? I love that Mass Effect has so many facets with no clear right answer. The Rachni, the Genophage, the Geth: Mass Effect has some ****ing awesome lore.

It has the Earthmind Gaia mindraping all of the wizards for more hits of magic while it goes through withdrawals?

And possible Harry/Tsu'tey slash?
Edit: And a girl who got friendzoned into ForeverAlone kamikazees some giant robots.

I feel like you really ought to side with the Geth, since they are the best weapon we have against the Reapers. Additionally, their industrial base is established and plonking the Flotilla down on a planet grounds an absurdly large fraction of the total organic fleet.

But it's Tali. Tough choices, dude.

I think theres definately going to be a Geth vs Quarian conflict in ME3. And its really hard. Its hard and no-one understands. Even not accounting the obvious benefits of siding with the Geth, the Quarians are 100% to blame for the war. The Geth even seem open to peace, but the Quarians are way too pissed to go for it imo.

But on the other hand the Quarians just want to go home. And I really feel for them. I think they've suffered enough. Plus I can't betray Tali!

I also think theres going to be a few other major conflicts. The Genophage'll get cured (I think theres been hints at this), the Rachni will come back, the Batarians will try to join the Reapers (because **** batarians) probably due to Shepard bombing their colony or something, Cerberus will try something etc. All in all I'm really excited for ME3.

The weird destabilized sun

Spoiler:
where you find Tali
seems really heavy handed to me. It stands alone as the only scientific oddity in the game that gets any voice-acted notice, and so is obviously important. Maybe sentience sparks instability in the fabric of space., hence Reapers?

ME2 came out in early '10. Last I checked, that was less than 2 years ago and therefore not even close to being old.

You want old? I have a copy of the original Nintendo Power. And I was the original owner. That's old. When the top 100 games include Legend of Zelda, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, and RBI Baseball, that's old.

Now get off mah lawn.

ME is keen on subtle details booming in the sequel. Like what was it? Klendagon? That rift on the surface turned out to be a fairly relevant plot point in 2.

Klendragon isn't in the same solar system as the downed Reaper but it is in the same space sector/star cluster/whatever, so the scar that was put on it very well might be the same thing that killed the Reaper. The idea that someone had a weapon that can kill Reapers, scar planets and potentially fire from lightyears away, and that they still lost is more than slightly disconcerting.

Even worse is that I belive it was hinted that Cerberus found the weapon (but it was 'defunct'😉. I don't trust the Illusive Man as far as I could throw Grunt.

Other people are curious about this. SFDebris was both curious about the destabilized star and that the Reapers motives are very ambiguous. For instance:

'That which you know as Reapers are your salvation through destruction.'

That does imply that they have another motive.

Dat Tool.

That women doesn't like anything does she? Not just the crap that was Revan, but she hates some of my favorite books and discovers sexism where none exist.

Wow... That was probably one of the worst reviews I have read of the book. Yes, Drew is a bad writer and yes the novel was bad but no where near as bad as she makes it. Furthermore her protests of sexism is quite clearly reaching if one actually read the book.

However, I don't think anyone can argue that Star wars isn't heavily slanted towards men, if not slightly chauvinistic.

The "some of my favorite books" is about the Dresden files, isn't it?

Spoiler:
They're terrible

Wait, I'm not supposed to use spoilers anymore
They're terrible.

As for the sexism, you can't argue with the utter manhandling and then sidelining of Bastilla's character, nor the (now recurring) theme of a woman leader of Mandalore begging the prodigal warrior to take over for her.

I agree with about ninety five percent of her evaluation of Karpyshyn, and probably 60% of her peripheral rage at related authors.

Wow, Revan actually wagged his finger at Atris? Thats pretty lame.

Actually I'm a big fan of Richard Morgan more than Butcher, although I do happen to like Butcher's early work. His latest books have sucked, but christ this woman is a major *****. She dissed Joe Abercrombie, and Patrick Rothfuss, two of the best fantasy authors on the market right now.
