Basically, the answer to this is evolution by way of natural selection. The book Climbing Mount Improbable (Dawkins, sorry) describes in painstaking detail how simple systems can bootstrap themselves into complexity via a ratcheting system of natural selection which culls deleterious mutations.

Hulk was the highlight. If you don't like Hulk you probably won't think it was all thatNo not better than TDK. I also prefer the original Iron Man, and X-Men First Class. Those movies all worked because they made them in the real world and sort of believable. But Avengers is the most NerdTastic fun for superhero fans that I've ever seen on the big screen.
