Odd. I'm 1/3 done with the Arkham City demo download while downloading the Rebellion Pack on Origin and streaming Youtube videos.

Check your settings. maybe you're set on the wrong city, or a victim of the sale increasing downloads? Typically Steam is damn quick. Longest download for me was a little over an hour for like 12 gb.

This sounds incredibly unlikely. A lot of people use Steam for downloads and games. I've been using it for four years now, and know people with similar track records.

Maybe you're lying, or maybe the problem is your rig.

Im thinking its just the patching and all thats been done (counted up, they have done at least 12 gb of patching, then DLC and Expandalone) and the computer. This thing will run it medium graphics tops I bet, so getting all the stuff has been taking forever. Its got 2 hours left, so I don't care at this point. Its worth the wait XD

Though I agree, Mount and Blade Warband took 2 minutes. Steam is fast, thats why its failed me.

Hmm I just etsted vampire just now just to be sure and "engine error available memory less than 15MB!!! -1" comes up. Know what that might mean?

edit - I get "Access Violation" when trying to laod Gothic.

Witcher suddenly works for me now though. 😄

Try getting the unofficial Gold Patch for VtM. It should fix it. Not sure on the others.

Ah, that makes sense to me.

Confused Matthew has done a analysis of the Dark Knight.

Squee! I love things like this, and I love these great reviews of TDK. Every one I watch just makes me love that movie even more. 😄

That was a really good overview. I liked his brief comparison to Wrath of Khan. Did you watch all the way to the epilogue?

The Avengers was so much better haermm

Nah. Just as entertaining though.

Anybody know any other games that are like Kotor 1 and 2, Mass Effect and Dragoon Age? 3D real time RPGs where you get to choose your dialogue (obviously aside form mass effect 2 aND 3 and dragon age 2 which i will be egtting to after kotor 2)?

Jade Empire is another Bioware rpg. Kind of shallow, but still a lot of fun.

Ah yes somebody told em about this a while back but I wasnt really ienrttested becvause of the setting as i rpefer sci fi and fnatasy (not a fan of ancient china 😘 ).

Dragoon Age? Tons of Kain?

Try Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. Bioware/Obsidian titles, very moddable, and lots of replay time. Not as deep as ME necessarily, but character customization is far superior.

Vampire: The Masquerades - Bloodlines is another superb example. Typically requires the unofficial Gold Patch (Google it) to work on newer systems, but amazingly well done game.

I don't really care to much about the gameplay. As long as its third person camera with 3d graphics and in real time (hate random battles 😘) its fine. All i care about tuis the story and being able to make choices and choose your dialgoue, which is why I really liked Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Kotor 1 and 2. I care little about character customistaion, and i ibky use mods to resote cut content.

Ultima 8 and 9. awermm

Nah, but Ultima 7 is pretty cool. What about the Fallout games? Fable? The Elder Scrolls games?

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 are also highly recommended games.

Can't go wrong with Skyrim. It's an amazing game. Probably my favorite of this generation.

I finded Skyrim boring personally, though people do seem to like it. its story is nowhere enar as good as the other RPGs I;ve played and it doens;t have the same dialogue system. Plus it takes so long to move around everywhere and I prefer to have aprty that i can interact with.

I couldt play Baldurs Gate. I dont mind playing some odler games but theres a limit. The graphics for those games are terrible.

Fable was alright, but sitll not what I am looking for.

The game I am looking for needs the dialogue wheels/lists you get in the other games with a party you can interact with and i would like it to have modern 3d graphcius with third person shoulder or behind camera (do nt like overhead view) with real time gameplay. Really games that are almost exactly like the ones i mentioned, and have really epic storys as wiell.

Did you not use fast travel in Skyrim? Or not buy a horse?

Anyway, the only game I can think of that meets your requirments are the Mass Effects and Dragon Age 2.

Yeah, your requirements are too narrow. There really aren't many games like that outside of the ones we've mentioned or that you've played. The only one I can think of is Planescape Torment, and thats a really old game too.

Does Planescape: Torment have real time combat? It's been ages but I thought it was turn-based in the same way KotOR was.

But yeah great game. Far better than KotOR 2 IMO.

I am warning you now, DA2 will disappoint you if you expect Origins. Do NOT, under ANY circumstances, relate them in your mind. I did, and I hate DA2. No joke, I am trying to save your life here, man. DA2 is terrible unless you hold it as its own game, just set in the same world. And even then its not even great.

Oh, and be careful. If you are looking for choices affecting things.... Don't get DA2. It has an illusion of choice, but in the end nothing really matters.

That's the same with almost all Bioware games though. I mean all three Mass Effects have very little differences in the ending. Even KotOR's choice really only gives you one of two prerendered cutscenes.

Yeh but you have to get to the place in the first place ebfore you cna receive fats travel and even the horses really really damn slow imo. Plus in general it felt a lot less "warm" than the other games where you at least get your party and stuff.

I mean games like the first Dragon Age and thr Kotors as well btw, I'd consider Kotors gameplay also real time given yoiu dont get random battles and you dont select what you sue form a menu like final fantasy x.

Oh really? 🙁

Damn two things Ive really been looking forward to that are apparently shit (this and Revan).

Planescape Torment based on a quick look looks linda simialr to baldurs gate for me perosnally, overhead view with really ppor, ancient grapohgics and tiny polygon characters.

Its got pretty much the same combat as Baldur's Gate.
