I'm having a bit of a freakout; my "hp games" list on windows 7 has a bunch of names that I didn't download:
club penguin
crush the castle
dark orbit
free realms
...
world of warcraft
I haven't played any of these (there are 11 unsolicited games on here) and deleting them from the "HP games" program files didn't remove them from the list.
1. Where did they come from
2. What do I need to delete to get rid of them?
You bought a pre-made computer. That's your problem.
Just buy your own hard drive, do a new install of Windows, and don't ever buy from HP again, because of current events especially.

...I know how to construct a computer piece by piece with a tower, but I have no idea what the guts of a laptop are supposed to look like.
I suggest an immediate virus protection update followed by full system scan. Which protection do you use? If its a low-end one I suggest an upgrade.
Also make sure no personal information is on your computer. Delete anything that can be used to steal your identity or fvck with your finances.
You should maybe go to a specialised website about this. If you can't figure it out then a full system wipe sounds sensible.
