"Alice worked 40 hours at regular pay and 5 and 2/3 hours at 11/2 pay. How many hours will Alice be paid for in total?"
It seems like an incredibly obvious addition problem (40+ 5 and 2/3 or 17/3, which would equal 45 and 2/3rds), but the answer I keep getting isn't one of the choices for answers you can choose from.
The options they give you are:
47 and 2/3rds, 40 and 1/2, 48 and 1/2, or 40 and 2/3rds.
What am I missing here?

Assuming you mean 1.5 and not 5.5 the answer is 48.5.This is because you have to
timesmultiply 17/3 by 1.5 to get it too regular pay. But, yeah the problem is worded very badly.
"Multiply" is a verb. "Times" is a preposition.
My favorite version of this mistake:
"You have to on the meth in the spoon before you on the lighter."
Correction: "You have to put the meth in the spoon before you activate the lighter."
So, a 7 day ban means that he shall return.....
I apologize for this:
When he left us, he was but the troller, now he will be the trolled.
Absolutely terrible joke there. But I haven't seen any posts that seem like his, so in my mind it does not exist. But my entire last half of the post is irrelevant now..... *hiss*
