Heyo all. I wish Borderlands 2 would hurry up.

I just found out about the Star Wars mod for Moutn&Blade:Warband. I am installing it now. This weekend I am going to install the Lord of the Rings mod. I feel like a total nerd, but it is going to be friggin' awesome.

That sounds pretty awesome actually. MnB: Warband has some of the best combat mechanics around.

Yeah. Turns out, the Star Wars is a bust, its for the original. However, there is another that is a WIP that is a Star Wars one. The LOTR mod is awesome though. Blood In The West.

Imperium Romanum looks pretty cool too, and I am downloading that now (I am giving each a short run then looking for more)

Please lemme know how that works out. If I have time this weekend I'd like to try one or two. Napoleanic Wars is simply too frustrating for me.

How is Napoleonic Wars? I imagine it would just be lots of shooting and being lucky that you don't get hit. Seems kind of lame to me.

Pfft, thats Blood And Steel, or fighting Noldor Rangers in Prophesy of Pendor.... No joke, one shot in them and you are going down, hard. Unless you have the correct build to take that first one.

All in all, Imperium Romanum isn't bad, but it needs some polishing. So much is going on at once, you start with 100 Denars (I cant remember the proper currency, not Denarii) and you have a 200 man army that are all professional mid-tier guys. (At least, with my choice) So you have to book it to get money. However, you can jump straight to fighting, but don't try and take a castle with them. You won't. It also has slings, one-shot thrown weapons (seriously, you'll be standing there, then something hits you and your dead) If your into Roman stuff, go ahead and get it, I am gonna keep playing. Otherwise, there isn't much point.

And for the love of everything that is sane, do NOT play Prophesy of Pendor unless you have at least a lvl 30 guy from Native to import. Nord Huscarls are considered mid-tier units in that module. No joke. The high tier have 70+ hit points, and the Noldor Rangers can have 10-40 guys and take down 100+. 25 can turn the tide if defending a siege, even against 300+ They are absolutely insane.

Ohohh. Yes! HK-51 companion is coming to TOR. I may just renew my subscription now...

Aesthetically awesome, with incredible attention to uniform detail, etc. but really a PITA to play. Few online servers have enough people for compelling gameplay and those that do typically are siege style maps that rotate the same three or four maps all day. There's a shocking number of trolls and morons playing too, and the inability to hit anything with the musket coupled with lag issues (average ping is 150+ I find) is nightmarish, and melee combat is simply not practical without armor. So in short, it's inferior to the native module by far. I don't lament the ten bucks, but I'm certainly not happy with it. Being strictly a MP bundle, there's no fun unless you can enjoy MP.

Love Roman history. Been on a binge lately. Did a tribute speech on Gaius Marius last week, then rewatched Gladiator, Centurion, The Eagle, and King Arthur. I will definitely try this out.

I have a level 39 Nordic lord as my most-used save. He regularly takes down Swadian knights, mamelukes, and non-King lords with a swipe of his greatsword at full gallop. I should like to try this mod.

Do so at your own risk. The armor system is a bit revamped, so a hit does not always mean damage. An arrow will take you out with it first shot, and you get new gear. Oh, and you get recruits vs guys who are better than Huscarls. Enemy generals start with a couple hundred.

Imperium Romanum is also difficult, one Pila or arrow will take you down, so be careful with your shield.

Lovely. Yeah, Huscarls are pretty BA. Even in a predominantly cavalry-based army, they are the hardiest warriors and hold castles with archers like no one else. Seriously, I just litter taken holds and keeps with huscarls (with advance training, I get them in days) and archers and they can hold long enough for me to relieve them.

nerds

Stabbing peasants in the face with a greatsword isn't even slightly nerdy, b*tch. estahuh

Unrelated, but all this did was remind me of Medieval Total War.

Medieval Total War 2, beeatch. Teutonic knights and Dismounted Teutonic Knights FTW!

Anyways yeah, in Prophesy of Pendor, the best units from the Native game are comparable to the mid-tier guys. With the High Tier, they are armies in small numbers. What it amounts to is this: You need to train guys fast while avoiding everything but bandits. When you have mid-tier, you can take on the slightly more difficult bandits. Who have Swadian-knight level guys.

Oh, and companions cost up to 15k now. Grats! You do get your money though.
