Wikipedia articles are "abridged" versions of the books. Since they're abridged, they seem very climactic so that was what I was expecting, especially in TUF. I felt it wasn't all it was cracked out to be.

My memory of the books was completely opposite of DS's (i like Shimirra, didn't like Omini) so i wasn't helping his case about being anti climactic.

plus i couldn't remember ANY of the rest of the plot (wasn't there something about Boba Fett in that series?)

Because there's so much of it that's stupid. Plus we're all considerably older than when a lot of this material first appeared. Tastes get refined, patience gets depleted.

EU is actually written for a less mature audience than it was when we were younger too... cartoons and comic books and children's books. It used to be written at a teen level, now it's written at an elementary level. Either way, it's not kept up with our advancing age...
