When you're wearing Assassins Creed shirts at 30, constantly getting stopped by teenagers, and engaging them in an intellectual debate about which video games are the best, perhaps it's time to review your life?

Only if you think that video games are a lower form of entertainment fit only for children and that the older generation, which spends 85% of its freetime in front of a television being barely mentally stimulated, has the right idea.

Nope, video games are the best. That epiphany lasted up until I loaded up Assassins Creed: Black Flag, so about 5 minutes.

Jesus lol. U mad, bro?

1. Palpatine in TPM ordered the invasion and oppression of his home planet, the death of Jedi, manipulated Padme into crippling Valorum's regime, and generally threatened our heroes through Maul. He did plenty of stuff. He just didn't personally, physically harm anyone until ROTS.

2. Nah, I've read plenty of reviews by people over the years who found the subversion of democracy both poignant and compelling. And we actually don't 'see' the Empire oppress anyone in the OT, either; we're just told that they do.

3. I'd say ordering planetary invasions, deaths, etc. is pretty evil?

4. Cool. So we have to have a personal relationship with each and every casualty of the war? lmao

5. Order 66 and the massacre of the Jedi younglings and all the shit that happened in the latter half of ROTS was on Palpatine's order. Anakin was merely the instrument.

6. You're precious when you're angry.

1. And the invasion and oppression again happen off-screen. SHOW us that they're being oppressed. Don't just say it. Palpatine manipulating Padme would be pretty good if the scene was better. If Padme showed an emotion, if the politics weren't so tedious and if Palps was in any way sinister while he did it. And doing bad things via the proxy of Maul doesn't count.

2. We see them capture Leia and torture her, murder Luke's aunt and uncle (well, we see their smoking corpses), kill Ben and blow up a planet. In just the first movie. We see enough to know why they're the bad guys, why we should hate them and why there's tension in the final battle as the Death Star gets nearer and nearer to firing.

3. Its too removed. Just ordering something isn't enough. At the least have them order it and react in some villainous way. Sidious doesn't do this because he;s too much of a non-entity.

4. No. I praised the scene where Anakin kills some nameless younglings. You just have to show the audience why they should care. In Saving Private Ryan, whatshisface looks around at the dozen of people getting gunned down. We see people screaming as they die, we see people clutching at stumps. The movie shows us the cost and horror of war. Lucas doesn't do this. Even in ANH we see Leia's terror as the laser prepares to fire on Alderaan and we see Ben feel the destruction. Just saying 'Begun, the Clone Wars have' isn't enough.

5. And I praised it as being Sidious finally showing some villainous chops. It just took him too long to actually do anything himself.

Palpatine manipulating Anakin's obsession to keep Padme alive by promising him that the dark side is the only pathway to accomplishing it, then having him go out to the jedi temple ordering him to slaughter jedi (including younglings), telling him that only then will he be strong enough in the dark side to save Padme from death; then, after Vader's injuries at the hands of Kenobi, informs him that he is responsible for his wife's death (the very woman he did all that for just to keep alive), and just smiles calmly as Vader cries out in guilt/pain--that to me stands out more than anything the joker's done. That, along with his gleeful torturing of Luke, tells me that Palpatine is a true psychopath who loves to see others torture both mentally and physically. The fact that he did so well to hide those traits, makes him even scarier.

Temp, do you want to start dating again? Is it just the physical connection you're missing, or are you missing true partnership--someone you know is just there? If it's the former, I wouldn't start another serious relationship right away. If it's the latter, well, dating again may or may not back fire, depending on how deep your love for your ex was.

You'll notice that I specifically said 'In TPM and AotC' and then said 'We simply don't see enough of him as Sidious until RotS.' Sidious is pretty good in the third movie. He's super hammy and is completely ludicrous at times but he's ok. He working against his lack of presence in the first two films though.

This really spoils it though:

lmao

That last face really is just a complete 'I'm getting plowed in the ass' face.

Sids' O face.

Wonder how long I should wait til I start dating again. mmm

He should pace himself. uhuh

In my breakup, I took 30 days and read some books and hit the gym. On the 31st day I went out and got laid. Now, you're going to be pushing more like 60 days, but my spring break is coming up... 😖hifty:

(KotOR is the single best piece of Star Wars merch, btw. It has all the plucky wide eyed innocence of the PT and the compelling, immersive mastery of the OT. Its sequel went a little heavy on the grimdark broken galaxy gimmick.)

Anakin is more evil than Sidious IMO in the PT.
No. 👇

On another note, the Beast was a fairly cool young man. He beat up Angel and all of his little buddies. It was cool.

Also Lilah (Ooooooooooh shoot, sppppppoooooilllllers) dying left me vaguely buttsad.

Sidious didn't personally butcher unarmed children.

B-but said children were butchered explicitly on his command.

*Spoilers*

The Beast was bad ass. Wish they continued using him that season instead of switching it to his master (can't remember her name now).

But Cordellia killing Lilah was probably the best cliffhanger on that show.
