What would you say are good examples Renegade?

AC really doesn't have particularly stellar stories. The Desmond stuff was rather weak, theres only a handful of good characters, theres a lot of faffing around and contrivances and there are a host of other problems.

If you want truly great stroytelling play a Bioshock, an Obsidian or go japanese.

Bioshock 1 + Infinite are both really ****ing good games with great stories. And I'm about to get into Bioshock 2 so lets see if its as lazy and derivative as I've heard.

KotOR 1, 2 and TOR are def. the best Bioware/Obisidan games imo.

Bio Shock 2 deserves more love than it gets. It's basically Papa Wolf: The Game, with some interesting social commentary and super secksy backdrops. I love it.

Bioware and Obsidian are not the same thing. Obsidian only made KotOR II.

Mass Effect and Baldurs Gate are also incredible from Bioware. Obsidian has likewise done the great Fallout: NV as well.

The new South Park game done by Obsidian is supposed to be excellent too.

I was rereading the TV Tropes for NWN 2 as well. I really should finish the expansions.

Mask of the Betrayer is epic as shit from what I've seen.

Alpha Protocol could have been great, if not for its incredibly flawed gameplay.

MotB has some incredibly dark storylines. Far more sinister and serious than the OC, although the NWN 2 OC is pretty much a take-that to all heroic fantasy campaigns.

I got a little bit into the expansion before getting stuck in a dungeon and then losing interest because one of the team stopped playing the game.

I couldn't even make it past Act 1 of the OC. I'd already read the entire thing in a Lets Play on Something Awful. Which was pretty excellent. The Lets Play at least.

It really is. That game was way worse than something like Fable, let alone the likes of Dragon Age and KotOR. Only reason I got it was because Xbox had shit all for games.

Dragon Age was garbage. 😐

But then that maybe because I'm a big fantasy fan so I can see how derivate the game truly is.
