Damn, I just beat TFU again, but this time I chose to attack Vader. The dark side ending sucked. It wasn't even an actual dark side ending.
I preferred it rather than the cliched "LOLZ RULE TEH GALAXY" ending. It was true to form: choose the dark side and **** yourself in the long term.

Well, yes, but it doesn't make sense. Palpatine himself was the one who launched a ship against the already-defeated Starkiller. Why would he do that if he wanted a new, more powerful apprentice?

Because Starkiller attempted to kill him? Unlike Vader, who did the smart thing and kept his mouth shut (even though he felt the same way).
Hmm... Do you think that launching a starship against him would've been the best solution, though? I mean, he was already defeated. Besides, Vader was crippled by lava, he was left without arms and legs. The apprentice didn't really become a cyborg... Or did he? I don't think his power was nearly as reduced as Vader's power was. Just saying.

I don't see what you're asking, Lieutenant. At that point, Starkiller acted out of an unknown motive (perhaps even a light side one) to kill the Emperor immediately. Hardly the ideal Sith apprentice. If you're asking: "Did the Emperor want Starkiller as a successor even after that and simply ****ed up by beating him too much?" the answer would be: no. It seems apparent that after that doomed swing, Palpatine was going to wash his hands of Starkiller permenantly.
In fact, he probably meant to kill Starkiller by hurling the Shadow at him, but realized he'd make a handy enforcer.

Fair enough. That's what I was wondering. I don't think the Emperor should've washed his hands of Starkiller so easily if he believed he had the potential to be his equal. He could possibly be 'brainwashed' if his intentions when attempting to kill him were not light-sided. And yes, that's why I said it was not even an actual dark side ending: I believe his motive (whatever it was) was not a dark one.
It's official. Yoda? Supreme badass.
