I think Stephen King is missing the point. You can kill 20 people with a samurai sword. Would you ban samurai swords? Not that I'm against tighter gun control because I'd prefer hardcore background checks instead of being on a gun registering list, but people who make statements like that refuse to believe that humans are the issue, so they need to blame inanimate objects.

But that would require work.

Precisely my point. Easier to assume human beings are generally good and that inanimate objects/outside forces are at fault.

Yeah, as far as gun control goes, I definitely think they need more extensive background checks.

He was more or less calling out the idiocy of that woman's argument, not necessarily blaming the gun. tighter gun control is something i'm all for, background checks, registration - the whole deal. In closing: I just thought this sounded hilarious/stupid and i thought i should share lol

The woman was talking about outlawing guns, Fated, not adding more restrictions.

It was pretty humorous but I think King firmly believes guns are the problem and should be banned.

I wouldn't ban them, but maybe you should need a license to have a deadly weapon. The sword I own is blunt, I wouldn't feel comfortable with a real one. But a gun is massively more deadly than a sword so meh.

You're serious? You're supposed to have a license in this country, otherwise it's illegal. I keep forgetting you're from the UK.

Yeah, my dad has like 3-4 real swords and he don't need no license.

I don't think you need a license for swords in the U.S either. You do for guns, though.

Yeah, I own a sword, a dagger, and a warhammer. You don't need a license.

It isn't recommended to walk around in public with them though.

I've been watching the SW rebels show, and you know... it would be nice if there was like an Imperial character who was just a regular dude doing his job. On that note, stormtrooper training is absurd. Yeah, lets have our cadets perform jumping puzzles, shun teamwork, and work to sabotage fellow recruits. Yeah, because that's the kind of mentality I want in soldiers who need to work together to get shit done.

I wouldn't call him the heir to Nixon because he's not that right, but he's pretty damn right regarding foreign policy and pretty left regarding domestic policy. Good read though
