As Dave said, there's a huge difference between someone getting shot because of their own stupidity and getting assassinated in cold blood.
Also, IIRC the killing of the two officers is believed to be motivated by the Gardner case. In case you were implying the Brown case was related to these officer's deaths (which I'm not 100% sure you were).
