The HoT's skill doesn't come from accolades, it comes from defeating just about every opponent in the mythos during their time who has those accolades along with being Battlemaster, which requires mastering every form. All at the age of 25. And that's before the time skip to KotFE.

Also, I don't know if you know what master means, but if you're teaching something, you're obviously mastered it, especially if you're going to be the head instructor for the entire Jedi Order.
