It's probably on par with shatterpoint in terms of writing.
It's got drama, suspense, a bit of mystery and a pretty good ending.
It's a good buy for a few hours of entertainment and a perspective on the psyche of the clones and their sides of the conflict.
I'd give it a 8-10, imho it's one of the best sw games ever.
In terms of graphics, Republic Commando does hold up, though with the obvious look of an older game. The design of the HUD, imo, really ups the visual quality. Gameplay-wise it's one of the better designed SW games and has a lot of variety to it, given the Metroid-esque weapon changes you can do.
The squad-based gameplay is probably the best part, as far as I'm concerned.
Paused the game to make some serious adjustments to the mouse sensitivity lmao.
Infiltrating the Geonosian spire right now in pursuit of Sun Fac. But goddamn I forgot how good this game was at sucking you immediately into the action. I imagine Karen Traviss pleasured herself regularly during a playthrough.

yes Temp, immerse yourself in the gameplay, wank Delta Squad.
Also, the Star Ship level Is the best.
How are the cutscenes holding up?
Obviously the graphics aren't up to snuff in the modern era, but it's not like it's some sort of Picassan surrealist bullshit that makes it difficult to determine what I'm seeing.
But this sort of thing is another reason why the Clone Wars is the coolest conflict in the lore. Beneath all the greater, distant metaphysical conflict behind Jedi/Sith, you have some truly epic hard military shit going on.

The farcical nature of the war helps make it even cooler. It's the biggest, baddest fight in history... and ultimately a sham. Now that's some Shakespearean tragedy there.
Sheev really is the greatest Star Wars villain.
