No. Nazis were extremely right-winged in the social sense.

And they were in-between right and left side in terms of economy.

Hence:

Granted, I wouldn't call the Nazis right either.

This is, probably, because there are different definitions of the term "right" in US politics and European politics.

In US politics, as far as I understand it, the "radical right-wing" would be strictly conversative with some anti-socialist tendencies. In Europa "radical right-wing" usually describes nationalism with a tendency towards populism. Using the "European" definition, Nazis were most certainly radical right-winged politician. They don't fit the "US definition" of the term, though.

So explain what they were left leaning in regards to?

Also if anyone has an online link to a copy of The Unifying Force, I'd appreciate it.

EDIT: Oh, that's very true @Nai. The American definition of "Conservative" and the European definition are indeed very different, that could cause some confusion; what I'm saying is from the perspective of American-based conservatism.

And its even more laughable to call Nazis "left"

I don't know about Beefy, but Nazism being a left-wing ideology was not really my point at all. Rather, I tried to show that Nazi Germany wasn't a result of conservatism; to make that point, I pointed out that Hitler himself initially ran on a lot of mixed or liberal policies. That doesn't mean I don't recognize that in practice a lot of the things he advocated for became distorted as Hitler amassed more power and his rule more corrupted. I'm rather trying to say that conservatives aren't inherently akin to Hitler, and that Nazi Germany was something that could have risen from either a liberal or conservative party given the right circumstances. Fascism in itself is an entirely separate entity from either the left or right wing, after all.

Racism, antisemitism, nationalism and authoritarian laws usually aren't "left".

You talk as if these were legitimately right wing philosophies.

Although I have to admit that there are some overlaps between "right" and "left" when it comes to ideological extremists.

👆 Exactly what I mean.

Idk. When i find people interesting i want to pick their brains and find out what they think about certain stuff.

Politics, their views on life, philosophy. I enjoy these things with sinny and a couple others. You seem like an interesting guy and no I'm not hitting on you.
